Position SummaryWe are currently serving a Fortune 50 client with whom we have a long-standing relationship and who will undergo a significant transition in the near term. We are adding several project manager/business analysts (PM) to our small, dynamic team to serve the immediate and future needs of this client and additional clients as we grow.
Our PM will report directly to and work alongside the president of GCG to become an invaluable resource to our clients during critical stages of growth and transformation. Responsibilities will include scoping and managing cross-functional projects, conducting robust analyses, solving complex challenges, delivering high quality results, and earning the trust of our clients.
As examples of the types of projects available, the immediate needs of our current client include:
- Project management of very large unstructured data governance initiative, including managing unstructured data separation strategy and execution for a large-scale spinoff
- Project management of an Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) initiative to automate the collection and reporting of ESG data, including by sourcing and implementing ESG reporting system
- Project management of a large-scale migration from prior versions of SAP and JDE ERPs to SAP S/4 HANA. Experience working with an ERP migration will be highly valued and experience with SAP S/4 HANA is ideal for this role.Â
- Program management of the ingestion of data into the company’s Common Data Layer (CDL), which is a massive data repository, housing data from hundreds of apps and tens of thousands of tables. The PM will need to develop an understanding of the technical nuances of each application pending ingestion, and the requirements for the CDL, in order to effectively and efficiently integrate data from each application into the CDL.
We have additional projects on deck that are also complex, IT-focused projects that require someone who is both tech savvy and great with people–a great communicator who can explain what needs to be done and help to ensure everyone involved successfully completes their role in the process.
The ideal candidate for these roles has experience in an IT-focused role as a consultant, project manager, or business analyst serving cross-functional needs inside of a large, complex organization. We are seeking someone who is highly intellectual and analytical, and is capable of extracting salient information from disparate sources and effectively communicating insights verbally and visually to various stakeholders. We wish to meet someone who can easily articulate their past contributions toward successful outcomes with similar projects and who thrives amidst a mosaic of opportunities to create impact.
This position offers a high degree of autonomy and a flexible schedule. This role can be done remotely from anywhere in the U.S. Success will be measured initially by how quickly the PM can earn trust and take work off the president’s plate, and ultimately by the magnitude of successful outcomes we are able to achieve for our clients. The career trajectory for this role may include ownership of client relationships and growth within GCG or a permanent placement within one of our client companies.
Responsibilities:
- Determine and define project scope and objectives
- Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan
- Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
- Coordinate multiple projects and initiatives across the business unit, develop project work and revise as necessary a schedule for project completion, and coordinate project teams involving multiple stakeholders
- Track project costs in order to meet budget
- Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution
- Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement
- Evaluate business processes, anticipate requirements, uncover areas for improvement, and develop and implement solutions
- Lead ongoing reviews of business processes and develop optimization strategies
- Stay up-to-date on the latest process and IT advancements to automate and modernize systems
- Conduct meetings and presentations to share ideas and findings
- Effectively communicate your insights and plans to cross-functional team members and client management
- Gather critical information from meetings with various stakeholders and produce useful reports
- Work closely with clients, technicians, and managerial staff
- Manage projects, develop project plans, and monitor performance
- Prioritize initiatives based on business needs and requirements
- Serve as a liaison between stakeholders and users
- Manage competing resources and priorities
- Monitor deliverables and ensure timely completion of projects

Education & Experience:- Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field; an MBA is a plus
- Education or training that provides a strong foundational knowledge of IT as well as hands-on experience working with various interconnected applications
- 5+ years of experience in an IT-focused role in consulting, project management, and/or business analysis in a cross-functional capacity within a large, complex environment (5+ years of experience may be adequate if the experience is especially relevant)
- Experience with complex data management
- Experience working with applications and data
- Experience managing an ERP migration is a plus
- Experience with SAP and JDE ERPs is a plus and experience with SAP S/4 HANA is ideal
- Experience with mergers, acquisitions, divestiture and/or spinoffs is a plus
- Experience with information governance is a plus
- Experience leading and supporting projects through their full life cycle, with responsibility for defining and adhering to an outlined scope, budget and timeline
- Experience facilitating outcomes with numerous stakeholders while working independently in a very hands-on, autonomous capacity
- Experience that demonstrates the skills and character traits that follow
