Gameplay Programmer
Job Description
High Voltage is expanding its Engineering team and seeking experienced Gameplay Programmers who can work collaboratively with designers and artists to drive future gameplay features. We are passionate about delivering the best gameplay experiences to our players through iteration and teamwork.
As a Gameplay Programmer at High Voltage, you will be responsible for improving existing gameplay systems, creating and iterating on gameplay features in close collaboration with art and design teams, and contributing ideas to all aspects of game production and development. You will also need to be open to receiving and responding to critical feedback and ensure the technical excellence of our games across multiple platforms. You will be expected to write robust and maintainable code, use rapid prototyping, and make strong architectural and algorithmic decisions.
Requirements
You should possess the following:
- A degree in Computer Science/Engineering or relevant work experience
- Unreal Engine development experience
- Professional experience in game development for PC and consoles with a history of shipped titles
- Strong problem-solving skills and analytical mindset
- Proficiency in C++ with the ability to architect and code gameplay mechanics and tools
- Strong math skills
- Adept in gaming and able to articulate the strengths/weaknesses of existing games (preference for online games)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in live service game development
- Self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and able to work independently
- In-depth understanding of gameplay mechanics and the ability to create enjoyable, meaningful experiences for players
- Passion for video games.
* High Voltage Software provides the option to work remotely from home for all positions. However, employment eligibility for any position is limited to individuals residing in Illinois, Louisiana, Indiana, or New York. Therefore, if you do not currently reside in one of the aforementioned states, relocation will be necessary to join our team.
