Gas Accounting Rate Analyst - Sr Gas Accounting Rate Analyst

Primary Duties

1. Supports business units including senior leadership, through the administration of rate adjustments and other refund/recovery mechanisms and all related regulatory reporting and communication.

2. Develops, monitors and recommends changes to the rate adjustments in order to ensure full recovery of costs.

3. Prepares and provides information for purchase gas adjustments, actual cost adjustments, gas cost and quality of service audits including interaction with commission staff.

4. Coordinates, organizes and reviews information flow between internal departments in response to data requests related to the audits.

5. Performs deferred cost account reconciliations in order to monitor recovery and monitors related account activity in the general ledger for accuracy and effectiveness.

6. Determines and reports monthly over/under recovery of costs.

7. Monitors, analyzes and reports lost and unaccounted for (L&U) for gas and how it relates to regulatory reporting requirements.

8. Maintains the rate tariffs and internal and external communication of authorized rates, including tariffs on the Company's website.

9. Analyzes and tests the development and maintenance of relevant databases and reporting systems to support departmental activities.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Educational/Experience Level:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field and two years of experience in Accounting or related field; or

A general educational knowledge normally acquired through a high school diploma or a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and 5 years of related experience in Accounting or related field.

Communication Skills:

Requires the ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, with internal and/or external customers in order to obtain and/or provide explanations and/or modifications on technical or other complex concepts to individuals with little or no background in the area under discussion.

Numeric Skills:

Requires the ability to perform analyses involving ratios, percentages and simple statistical methods.

Computer Skills:

Requires advance knowledge of various software applications to create documents, reports and/or graphics.

Work Conditions:

Works in an office environment. Requires occasionally performing activities including, but not limited to, bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and/or lifting.
