We sit in the Global Banking & Markets - Public (GBM) where GS clients buy and sell financial products in every asset class and region, raise funding, and manage risk.

We help key stakeholders to understand some of the biggest and most complex clients of the firm. Working closely with sales, trading, strats, and other divisions of the firm, we dig into business opportunities, client strategy and data to help deliver the best of GS to our clients.

Prime Brokerage Securities Lending Supply / Trading / Demand Team Associate, Paris

The Securities Lending Desk is primarily responsible for negotiating and managing the facilitation of borrowing, lending and synthetic transactions between various market participants. The role involves working in a fast-paced trading environment and involves connectivity to Institutional clients, Hedge Funds and firm trading desks.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Management of day-to-day trading relationships primarily with Institutional clients and Hedge funds with a primary focus on owning direct relationships for the Paris entity,
• Day to day book management and maintenance, which include, but not limited to, providing locates, coverage of shorts positions ((Equities and Corporate Bonds), and sourcing inventory from Institutional clients,
• Ability to focus on commercial opportunities and risk management of positions on trading book (especially through Corporate Action Periods),
• Working with our Operational areas to effectively manage risk items and highlight areas of improvement,
• Responsible for producing market-colour and reporting to our clients and internal desks,
• Close interaction with related business units to maximise franchise value including Trading desks and Hedge-Fund servicing desks,
• Collaboration with Treasury/GLP to project desk funding requirement and raise funding accordingly.

Skills and experiences we are looking for:

• Must have strong analytical and quantitative skills with high attention to detail,
• Stock loan experience and/or aptitude to price derivatives is a plus,
• Ability to work closely with various groups, with strong communication skills,
• Strong work ethic,
• Ability to conduct business in French (German is a plus),
• Persistence and self-starter,
• Ability to multi-task in a high pressure environment,
• Entrepreneurial attitude,
• Strong interpersonal/relationship building skills,
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) required,
• Strong academic record with Bachelor's degree, above or equivalent required.
