The GCP Cloud Engineering Lead at Mondelez is responsible for leading the design, development, and deployment of cloud-based solutions used across our global enterprise. As a hands-on technical leader overseeing a team of Cloud Engineers, your focus will be on the development and realization of enterprise-grade solutions. Throughout your tenure, you will not only deepen your expertise in cloud development, but also mentor a robust team in designing secure, scalable solutions using various infrastructure, services, operating systems, and software development languages and frameworks. Your role will be pivotal in defining policies, standards, controls, and best practices for running enterprise workloads on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of Cloud Engineers, fostering a collaborative, high-performing work environment
  • Engineer the next-generation cloud platform and develop automated provisioning processes for repeatable, scalable, and secure cloud environments, which include:
    • Establishing the cloud organization's standards, best practices, and governance
    • Developing CI/CD Pipelines for testing and deploying changes
    • Defining and developing technical rules, guardrails, and preventive and detective controls to enable engineers to work productively and securely
  • Design, develop, automate, and deploy enterprise solutions for the cloud, with a preference for Serverless architectures when possible
  • Ensure application performance, availability, confidentiality, and scalability, maintaining high standards of code quality and well-architected designs
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of the IaaS software configuration management strategy and the associated automation tools
  • Contribute to the development of standards for CI/CD pipelines
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of the IaaS operating systems' golden images, patching, and maintenance strategy and systems
  • Facilitate the professional growth and development of team members


Skills/competencies you will need or develop in this role:

  • Cloud expertise in GCP using an Infrastructure as Code (IaC) approach
  • Software development programming/scripting, including Terraform, Bash, Powershell, Java, Python, SQL, Serverless applications, API clients, and endpoints
  • Ability to apply the concept of least privilege in the cloud
  • Working knowledge of modern authentication protocols such as SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect, along with other security concepts such as TLS, PKI, etc.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to foster teamwork in a highly-skilled engineering environment
  • Commitment to professional growth, continuous learning, and mentorship of junior engineers
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively
  • Support in obtaining industry-relevant certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
  • Passion for hands-on technical work and leadership


Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in architecting, designing, hands-on development, and implementing cloud solutions on GCP using Infrastructure as Code
  • Certifications in Terraform, GCP, or AWS
  • Ability to demonstrate a working understanding of and experience with the five pillars of well-architected frameworks
  • Proven ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary and diverse teams
  • Experience in designing and implementing a multi-platform product in a Cloud environment
  • Prior experience leading technical teams in a fast-paced environment
