The team you'll be part of

The Customer Experience organization provides a common interface to customers including account and relationship management, acting as the voice of the customer internally and creating demand across our business groups. While bringing deep understanding of local markets for our customer, the CX organization ensures strong alignment between sales and delivery teams.

We are seeking a senior State Engagement Strategist who will lead the engagement with state broadband offices to help Nokia capture a share of the $105B investment the U.S. Government will make in the development and expansion of broadband networks. The successful candidate will play a key role in enabling key partnerships that contribute to our ability to scale to meet the demand of this opportunity.

What you will learn and contribute to

As a senior state engagement strategist in the CX NAM Government Driven Broadband Initiative Sales (GDBI) and Partner Sales Office, you will:

Leverage existing and forge new relationships with the various state broadband offices to help build the sales opportunity pipeline to secure revenue for Nokia in this highly strategic initiative and take share of the U.S. Government investment. The U.S government investiment in the development of fiber networks will enable many potential actors to design, build and operate fiber networks. The industry cannot scale organically to meet the number of potential applications seeking funding and Nokia's competitors have long standing relationships and mindshare in this segment. Customers are seeking turnkey solutions from funding to operations and Nokia will create a compelling solution for this market. This team will leverage Nokia's trusted brand status to disrupt the market at the right phase of the process for our customers. You will facilitate the capture of this government spend by focusing on engagement at the various governmental levels, developing key partnerships in the ecosystem including consulting and collaborating with business development.

Main Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with other members of the GDBI and Partner Sales Office to facilitate and drive opportunities into the pipeline
  • Monitor the release of RFPs and state awards to create internal and external awareness of broadband stimulus opportunities
  • Proactively enage with lobbyists and state broadband offices to position Nokia early in deals to influence customer strategy and shape deal requirements
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue winnable opportunities based on probability of success and the optimal allocation of Nokia resources.
  • Develop client relationships and continually manage customers' perception of Nokia through active persuasion and education both as a lead and with sales and regional business center(RBC) teams.

Your skills and experience

You must have:
  • Bachelors degreein a business discipline
  • At least 10 years of experience in government affairs, marketing or public policy
  • Capacity to work closely with cross-functional global teams and represent the full suite of Nokia portfolio
  • Strong track record with working with government agencies to draft policy and legistation that is consumable by the telecom industry
  • Excellent communicator, relationship builder, collaborator and negotiator
  • Capacity to drive discussions at the C-Level in companies of all sizes

It would be nice if you also had:
  • Masters and/or Law Degree
