Function of the Role:
Leyton is seeking an in-house General Counsel, role is full-time during standard business hours and can be remote (from any US location). You will perform a wide range of legal functions, such as handling pre-suit matters, managing litigation matters (e.g. defense of consumer claims, B2B disputes and some employment litigation) and outside counsel.
Main responsibilities will include:• Manage certain litigation matters being handled by outside counsel by coordinating and directing and driving sophisticated and complex case strategy• Partner with outside counsel to draft/edit pleadings• Review, revise, and complete discovery, performing legal research as necessary, interview, and prepare witnesses for depositions and trial, and negotiating settlements.• Administration of various litigation and corporate matters, discovery projects, document review, and legal research on a variety of issues, including compliance and regulatory matters.• Development of policies and procedures to mitigate corporate risk• Review of business/commercial contracts. drafting responses to regulators• Provide guidance to HR, and, as needed, perform various other legal tasks, such as legal research and legal projects
Desired Skills & Experience:• Partner level at current organization• Experience arbitrating commercial and business litigation• 12+ years of relevant litigation and arbitration experience
