The GL Accountant will have the unique opportunity to help the Company streamline, standardize and document many of our core processes. The GL Accountant will be responsible for a broad range of analytics, transactional processing, reconciliations and other core accounting activities. Core functions include cash management, prepaids, fixed assets, AP (including full procure to pay process), credit card reconciliations and expense report processing. The successful candidate will have a "roll-up-the-sleeves" attitude, is detail oriented, organized, able to multitask and be ready to thrive in a very fast-paced startup environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform bank reconciliations and cash management functions.
- Prepare supporting schedules for fixed assets, prepaids, other assets and accrued expenses.
- Own the procure to pay life cycle including liaison with our 3rd party AP processor and confirm all invoices are properly recorded to the GL and department based on our desired coding.
- Ensure compliance with Company’s procurement policy by ensuring all invoices are properly matched against PO’s (as applicable by our policy)
- Ensure compliance with Company’s Travel & Entertainment policy by ensuring all expense reports have the applicable support inline with company policy.
- Assist in monthly close processes including preparing journal entries, accruals and reconciling accounts to the general ledger.
- Assist in the completion of the monthly analytical review of all expenses by department.
- Assist in performing the monthly consolidation and financial statement preparation.
- Develop, implement and document policies and procedures around all our core processes.
- Assist in accounting for leases, stock-based compensation and debt compliance.
- Additional projects and analysis as assigned by the Senior Manager of Accounting or Controller.
Education, Knowledge, & Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in an accounting-related field
- 3+ years accounting experience, prior start-up company or similar experience preferred.
- 1+ year at a national public accounting firm preferred.
- Ability to handle change in a fast-paced growing company, along with “wearing multiple hats.”
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to meet assigned deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience working with NetSuite, Expensify, Carta, Trip Actions, etc. is preferred.
Pay Range:
The base pay range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to Qualifications, Geographical Location, Education/certifications, Experience, Skill Sets, Training, and other business and organizational needs.
At Bugcrowd, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for the position of General Ledger Accountant is: $65,180 - $90,750.
This position may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary bonus program or commission plan, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
