General Ledger Accountant

We are searching for an experienced and detailed-oriented general ledger accountant to report directly to the Manager, Accounting. The general ledger accountant will be responsible for maintaining general ledger entries, reconciling financial statements and general ledger accounts, and assisting in the daily operations of the Accounting Department. This is an incredible opportunity for an initiative-taking individual to obtain healthcare, private equity, and start up experience. The general ledger accountant will also be exposed to the full accounting cycle, annual audits, consolidation reporting, fixed assets, prepaids, corporate taxes, and variance analyses.

Essential Functions

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
  • Prepare monthly journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation relating to depreciation, amortization, prepaids, accruals, intercompany, consolidation, joint venture, and a variety of other transaction types
  • Ensure all journal entries are accurate and in accordance with GAAP
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and variance analyses
  • Assist Manager, Accounting, to coordinate with outside audit and tax firms to prepare audit schedules and backup documentation 
  • Assist with corporate reporting requirements
  • Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls
  • Perform various accounting projects for the department
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting 
  • 2+ years’ experience in a corporate accounting role
  • 2+ years’ experience with an ERP system
  • Active CPA license or CPA candidate
  • Occasional Business travel
  • Internet Connectivity - Min Speeds: 3.8Mbps/3.0Mbps (up/down): Latency <60 ms

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office products
  • Health Care industry experience
  • Strong understanding of GAAP Accounting
  • Experience with Oracle NetSuite, Stampli, and Expensify
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Strong analytic skills
  • High diligence and ownership over work
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally
  • Adaptable, Collaborative, Agile
  • Ability to execute with limited supervision

Annual Salary Range: $63,600.00-$74,800.00

 

Strive Health offers competitive compensation and benefits.  An annual performance bonus, determined by company and individual performance, is available for many roles and aligned to Strive Health guidelines.
