Job Description:

UPS – Global Accounting Center (GAC) – Non GAC (Supervisor)

The Non GAC Team Supervisor will report to the Region Migrations / Non-GAC Manager. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing oversight of activities carried out within the local accounting functions and enforcing GAC (Global Accounting Center) quality standards with regards to record-to-report (R2R) processes, including governance, and General Ledger management. They will also support any future migrations to the GAC sites and accounting support for any new acquisitions.

The candidate for this role will have excellent communication skills, knowledge of end-to-end RTR processes and will have experience leading and collaborating across global teams.

Job duties:

Manage and oversee work of the Non GAC Specialist

Coaching and development of Non GAC Specialist

Collaborate with local accounting teams for activates not covered by the GAC (non-GAC activity) to ensure timely completion of month end close activities is timely and

Enforce overall balance sheet quality standards

Liaise between UPS stakeholders and Non-GAC locations to fulfil information requests

Communicate and verify compliance with UPS Accounting Policies and Procedures

Support process management and improvement

Identification and resolution of risks in a timely manner

Assess, understand and manage interdependencies between work streams

Work collaboratively with Business Process Partner (BPP) Tower, Strategic Decision Support, Country Finance functions, and external Auditors to resolve issues

Support all Corporate and Region initiated accounting projects for Non-GAC locations

Support the coordination of future migrations into the GAC and the BPP

Work with cross functional teams and special project teams to support accounting processes for new acquisitions as required.

Knowledge Requirements

Required:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of finance and accounting experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in finance, accounting or business
  • Detailed knowledge of accounting processes
  • Excellent Microsoft Office Skills (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred:

  • Masters degree in finance, accounting or business analytics with minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
