General Manager of Logistics, Organics Solutions

Vanguard Renewables is the premier anaerobic digester developer/owner/operator in the United States. Our closed-loop anaerobic digestion process converts organic waste and cow manure into green electricity or renewable natural gas as well as other related “value-added” products. We are headquartered in MA, funded by institutional capital partners, and currently, have 20+ projects operating and in development in over 13 states. We have a plan to aggressively expand into other domestic markets.

The General Manager of Logistics, Organic Solutions, will directly support the Vice President of Organics Solutions. They will drive the strategy of the National Sales and New England Sales team in alignment with the executive leaderships vision through mentoring and coaching of associates, as well as actively engage in the operations and logistics duties of Organics Solutions. This role will oversee the logistics team’s creation and implementation of best practices when engaging with domestic and international hauling partners to secure the most favorable contracts and expand aggressively into new markets. The Logistics General Manager will also work closely with biological operations to ensure that the feedstock provided is compliant for the digesters.

Responsibilities

• Fully understand the company strategy and vision for the Organics Solutions team and use this knowledge to drive logistics and operational results.
• Oversees the entire New England logistics operations and P&L.
• Works to streamline logistics process in New England and create a template for the national logistics platform.
• Prepare sales budget; manage P&L for Organics Solutions with reporting to Finance.
• Review sales and operational records and reports; use data to project sales, determine profitability and targets, and identify potential new markets.
• Create quarterly sales reports and forecasts in alignment to meet the department’s goals.
• Support logistics team operations at any level when required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

• Willingness to travel 40% to engage with current and prospective strategic partners.
• Experience in New England waste and environmental logistics strongly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a senior logistics leader managing end-to-end supply chain operations.
• Program, process development.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Results-oriented with the ability to work independently in an entrepreneurial environment.
• Experience and knowledge of financial business concepts including financial analysis.
• Experience with cross-functional leadership and management.
• Experience with basic software like MS office.
