GEOINT Standards Developer - Data & Web Services – Junior to Mid Level

Location:  Springfield, VA/St. Louis, MO or Huntsville, AL

TS/SCI Clearance Required

General Responsibilities:

• Write GEOINT requirements as Standards and Profiles of Standards adopted by U.S. and International organizations.
• Ensure capability Standards for GEOINT data, geospatial data, GEOINT, and for APIs satisfy requirements across NGA and partners.
• Represent a standards working group and NGA in U.S. and international standards organizations
• Collaborate, test and assist others in development and use of geospatial standards.
• Support the validation of standards for implementation and compliance.

Skills and Experience:

Required Skills:

• Active TS/SCI clearance
• GEOINT domain experience with one or more applications of real-world GEOINT
• Working experience with geospatial information and metadata
• Able to work in a cloud-based, collaborative computing environment
• Experience working with spatiotemporal or multi-dimensional data
• Able to comprehend technical documentation and express reasoned views on compatibility and improvements in the documentation

Desired Skills:

• Familiar with geospatial and information technology standards, formats or application interfaces
• Experience in the use of existing OGC standards and industry best practices related to visualization, features, spatiotemporal data, and coordinate reference systems.
• Familiar with a software language.
• Use of HTTP REST, API’s, XML, XML Schema, and OpenAPI.
• Familiarity with the major varieties of JSON (JSON-LD, GeoJSON, JSON-B, etc.).
• Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL query.
• International technical or business relations and travel

Education/Certification Required:

• Jr: Bachelor’s degree, or Associates degree plus 2-year experience, or minimum of 4 years’ experience, in relevant field.
• Mid: Master’s degree, Bachelor’s degree plus 2 year experience, Associates degree plus 4 years’ experience, or a minimum of 6 years’ experience, in relevant field.
