Ardent is seeking a Geospatial (GIS) Consultant to join our team. 

 

This is a Remote Role. 

Position Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) Consultant to join our team. As a GIS Consultant, you will leverage your extensive expertise in geospatial information systems, data analysis, and spatial modeling to provide expert guidance, support, and strategic solutions to our clients. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on challenging projects, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and shape the future of geospatial information systems. 

Responsibilities and Duties:

Geospatial Analysis and Modeling: 

  • Utilize advanced geospatial analysis techniques, spatial modeling, and data visualization tools to extract actionable insights from spatial datasets.
  • Apply expert knowledge in GIS methodologies to solve complex problems and provide data-driven recommendations to clients.

GIS Systems Development and Implementation: 

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of GIS systems, ensuring optimal functionality, data integration, and user experience.
  • Collaborate with software developers and IT teams to customize GIS applications and integrate them with existing client infrastructure.

Data Management and Integration: 

  • Develop strategies for efficient data management, including acquisition, integration, quality control, and database design, to support GIS projects.
  • Integrate diverse data sources, including geospatial, remote sensing, and other relevant datasets, to create comprehensive GIS databases.

Subject Matter Expertise: 

  • Serve as a recognized subject matter expert in geospatial information systems, providing authoritative advice, guidance, and thought leadership to clients and project teams.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in GIS and related fields, and share knowledge with internal and external stakeholders.

Project Management and Consultation: 

  • Lead GIS projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Consult with clients to assess their needs, identify GIS requirements, and provide strategic recommendations aligned with their objectives.

Training and Knowledge Transfer: 

  • Develop and deliver GIS training programs, workshops, and documentation to build capacity and enhance GIS literacy within client organizations.
  • Mentor and guide junior GIS professionals, fostering their professional growth and development.

Client Relationship Management: 

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their unique requirements, and providing exceptional customer service.
  • Collaborate with clients to identify opportunities for expanding GIS capabilities and delivering innovative solutions.

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree (Geospatial Sciences, Geography, GIS, or a related field preferred).
  • Relevant experience in geospatial information systems, with a focus on GIS analysis, modeling, and systems development.
  • Must have experience with the following skillsets:
    • Desktop - ArcGIS Pro
    • Mobile – Survey123, Field Apps
    • ArcGIS Online (AGOL) And/Or ArcGIS Enterprise (Geoevent, Webapp builder, Experience Builder, Insights, Dashboards)
    • Python (Standard library + ArcPY)
    • Database (Enterprise SDE: Oracle, Postgre, SQL)
    • Expertise in GIS software and tools, such QGIS,SQL
  • Strong knowledge of geospatial analysis techniques, spatial modeling, and data visualization methodologies.
  • Proficiency in GIS systems development and customization, including web-based GIS applications, APIs, and data integration.
  • Experience with data management, including acquisition, integration, quality control, and database design.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead and deliver complex GIS projects on time and within budget.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex GIS concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven track record of providing GIS consulting and subject matter expertise to clients, delivering high-quality solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams, adapting to evolving project requirements.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional growth, staying updated with emerging GIS trends and technologies.
