Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Conduct geohydrological programs for data acquisition, analysis and mapping
  • Conduct geological programs for data acquisition, analysis and mapping
  • Conduct geophysical programs for data acquisition, analysis and mapping
  • Conduct geotechnical programs for data acquisition, analysis and mapping
  • Plan programs for data acquisition, analysis and mapping to assist in the development of civil engineering projects
  • Plan programs for data acquisition, analysis and mapping to assist in the development of waste management projects
  • Supervise technologists, technicians and other engineers and scientists
  • Prepare recommendations and reports for the construction or improvement of civil engineering projects
  • Analyze reports and prepare recommendations on settlement of buildings, stability of slopes, and effects of earthquakes to support construction and civil engineering projects

Supervision

  • 5-10 people

Credentials

Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses 

  • Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association
