Your Opportunity

This is a full-time position working with our Environmental Services (ES) group in the Ohio region.

Office location will be determined based on chosen candidate. A remote work option may be considered.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Creating maps and performing a wide range of geospatial analyses in support of environmental permitting, environmental field surveys, and construction compliance for a variety of power-related projects, including, but not limited to, high voltage transmission lines, wind and solar energy facilities, transportation infrastructure and oil and gas pipelines
  • Adhering to established cartographic standards and Quality Assurance / Quality Control processes
  • Managing a wide variety of project-specific and reference geospatial data in accordance with defined data management standards
  • Support geospatial field data collection efforts utilizing ArcGIS Online's suite of mobile and web applications. Typical collected features include wetlands, waterways and rare, threatened or endangered species occurrences or habitats
  • Collaborating with existing GIS staff members working in other Stantec offices


Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Experience working with Esri ArcGIS products:
    • ArcPro
    • Survey123 Connect
    • ArcGIS Online and it's suite of mobile and web applications
      • Field Maps, Survey123, Web App Builder, Experience Builder, Dashboards, etc.
  • Understanding of cartographic concepts, such as; scale, projections, spatial relationships, and symbolization
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Ability to meet project deadlines and understand how assigned tasks relate to project goals
  • Ability to maintain and establish effective working relationships
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously
  • Ability to perform work accurately in a detail-oriented environment
  • Exceptional visual, written and verbal communication skills, problem-solving abilities and attention to detail

Additional Desired Capabilities
  • Ability to occasionally travel to support field data collection
  • Python/Arcade
  • Working with engineering design CAD drawings
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams, Sharepoint, PowerBI, Power Automate
  • Lidar processing

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in GIS, Life Science, Environmental Science, Natural Resources, or related field preferred.

Experience with environmental permitting preferred.
