Overview
The ArcGIS Content team is seeking a motivated GIS Engineer with a passion for geospatial data, online mapping, and coordinating GIS projects within Esri’s Community Maps Program. In this role, you will work with diverse datasets, performing data editing and quality assurance to meet high cartographic standards. The ideal candidate will excel at executing tasks under deadlines while maintaining exceptional quality and demonstrate enthusiasm for helping our Community Maps clients contribute to the ArcGIS Living Atlas of the World.
Responsibilities
- Data evaluation and assess for integration and cartographic standards
- Coordinate and communicate with customers regarding data feedback, requirements, and project status
- Organize and delegate assignments with subcontractors
- Assess map and data processing quality assurance procedures
- Perform geospatial data editing tasks in ArcGIS as needed
- Utilize ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Workflow Manager, JIRA, MS Excel
Requirements
- 1+ years of professional experience working with ArcGIS Pro or Online
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Ability to deliver work within time constraints, in team environment and individually
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to articulate complex problems simply and procedurally
- Keen attention to detail and drive to resolve any issues encountered
- Ability to understand new data requirements and concepts quickly and apply them accurately through an evolving, dynamic environment
- Bachelor’s in GIS, geography, environmental science, or other related field
- Visa sponsorship is not available for this posting. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
Recommended Qualifications
- Knowledge of or experience in data editing, digital map, and data publication
- Knowledge of or experience in data quality assurance processes
- Experience with GIS and/or the Esri ArcGIS platform including ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online

Base salary is one component of our total rewards strategy. Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is
$66,560—$83,200 USD
