GIS / FLUCCS Subject Matter Expert

Overview:
WiredPeople is seeking to hire a subject matter expert with expertise in Geographic Information System (GIS) and/or Florida Land Use, Cover, and Forms Classification System (FLUCCS). Standout candidates will be available to contribute their GIS / FLUCCS expertise for land use data analysis, survey design, and technical recommendations as needed. This role will operate remotely with the potential for some required travel to TBD locations in Florida.
Responsibilities:

• Validate the requirements and deliverables that the project will produce.
• Provide input for the design and construction of project deliverables.
• Provide input into and/or create and execute user documentation and training material.
• Guide other professionals within the project team to ensure the content is accurate.
• Resolve issues relevant to project deliverables within their area of expertise.

Qualifications and Experience

• Experience with land use or land cover data, particularly using the FLUCCS classification system.
• Knowledge of spatial data use cases, water quality modeling, and business analysis for IT projects involving GIS.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• The ability to break down technological processes and deliver clear, step-by-step instructions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Team-oriented mindset.
