GIS (Geographic Information System) Engineer

Infosys is seeking a GIS (Geographic Information System) Engineer. This role requires close partnership and collaboration with other Engineers and Subject Matter Experts.

Required Qualifications:
• This position is based out of Monroe LA. Candidate can work from anywhere in USA . This position may require travel to project locations.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education
• At least 2 years of Information Technology experience
• At least 2 years of experience with GIS based systems (3GIS, ArcGIS, QGIS, Google Earth Pro etc.)
• Experience in maintaining and updating comprehensive records of all physical and logical fiber network assets, including cables, splice points, enclosures, and termination points.

• Ensure the accuracy of Geographic Information System (GIS) data and network maps.
• Analyze fiber inventory data to identify opportunities for network optimization, capacity planning, and fault resolution.
• Assist in identifying and resolving discrepancies in inventory records and network infrastructure.
• Use fiber management and GIS tools like 3-GIS, OSPInsight, and AutoCAD for inventory tracking and visualization.
• Identify potential changes and system improvements to present to technical teams for consideration and implementation.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Collaborate with SME and Client teams for resolving inconsistency in the tool.
• Basic Expertise in supporting Optical network environment.
• Ensure that work is carried out within agreed service levels and in accordance with project guidelines.
• Explain and document technical issues in a clear way to technical teams, business stakeholders.
• Hands on Experience or knowledge of End-to-End Fiber Network implementation.
• Experienced in performing Lead activities and working with clients directly
• Extraordinary Planning, Project Management, Coordination, and Analytical skills
• Hands-on experience in working in Global Delivery Model with onsite/offshore resources
• Exceptional Organizational Skills
• Ability to manage and prioritize tasks efficiently
• Readiness to demonstrate a proactive attitude
• Solid attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
• Ability to work in team in diverse/ multiple stakeholder environment

The job entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email or face to face. Travel may be required as per the job requirements.

Estimated annual compensation range for this role will be as follows:
In CA/ WA / NY / CO: $62,000 to $86,800
In Washington, DC: $62,600 to $76,100
