Summary
The GIS Manager is responsible for developing standards, providing recommendations on GIS strategy, and leading a team supporting the implementation of a new Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) platform that utilizes Esri's GIS platform for asset management. Advancing our client's GIS program, and creating a strategic roadmap for the future, and developing a plan to achieve the desired outcomes will be the initial focus. The GIS Manager will apply a discrete focus necessary to scale out a recently provisioned base ArcGIS Enterprise Development of Web, App, and Core servers.
Responsibilities
  • Working directly with the client, provide recommendations for building out the GIS environment set so it can be used as the Asset system of record for client Operations
  • Perform an analysis of the logical data flow between existing client systems
  • Lead the GIS implementation for the EAM deployment
  • Provide recommendations for assistance replacing systems with Esri Tools
  • Perform an analysis of the clients current Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) Systems generating work orders and integration with the ArcGIS system
  • Develop strategic plan / future capabilities roadmap to include refreshed technology and/or process enhancement recommendations to allow the client to achieve desired business outcomes (i.e. eliminate manual intensive processes, and siloed data sources)
  • Manage and grow a small team of GIS Analysts

Requirements
  • Experience leading Esri projects in utilities including mobile field verification
  • Direct experience building schemas for utilities
  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution in Environmental Science, Geography, GIS, Urban Planning, Computer Science, or a closely related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience leading projects using Esri suite of GIS software including ArcGIS Desktop and its related extensions, ArcGIS Enterprise, relational databases, and GIS conversions to latest ArcGIS version
  • GIS Professional Certificate (GISP) is preferred
  • Experience with spatial data management, spatial analysis technologies, process design and modeling, server and web GIS technologies
  • Expertise in the Esri suite of GIS products, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server, and ArcGIS Online, Python, Model Builder, and ArcGIS Enterprise
  • Ability to translate business requirements into a GIS design
  • Skilled in the conversion of spatial data into digitized formats utilizing current GIS technologies
  • Skilled in researching, compiling, summarizing, and interpreting statistical data and information materials
  • Ability to plan and see the big picture
  • Detail oriented and organized with excellent time management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience with operations, field services, or project management
