Description

Spatial Front is seeking a dynamic and experienced GIS Project Manager to lead and coordinate our GIS projects. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical GIS expertise, strong project management skills, and excellent leadership abilities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Project Execution: Develop and manage project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resources. Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and budget.
  • Technical Proficiency: Utilize GIS software and technologies for spatial analysis, cartography, and data management. Explain complex GIS concepts in understandable terms.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of GIS analysts, developers and technicians, providing motivation, training, and support. Promote a collaborative work environment.
  • Client Relations: Communicate with clients to understand GIS requirements, manage expectations, and maintain positive relationships.
  • Quality and Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with legal and organizational standards. Implement quality control measures.
  • Innovation: Stay updated with GIS technology trends, driving process and technology improvements within the team.
  • Assist with contract management and financial reporting
  • Help to manage and coordinate contractor staff to fulfill the objectives defined in the Statement of Work through all phases of the project
  • Responsible for identifying any potential program risks and for identifying them to the Government as soon as they are recognized
  • Proven skill with customer relationship management and growing an existing account.
  • Work with the business development team on acquiring new Task Orders.
    • Will assist with creating technical and business proposals as well.
  • Responsible for ensuring deliverables are done correctly and delivered on time.
  • Work with subcontractors to ensure their team members maintain SFI's business standards.
  • Assist with PowerPoint decks for kickoffs and leadership reviews as requested.
  • Conduct requirements gathering session with client.
  • Develop meeting forms, templates, and SOPs.
  • Use virtual meeting software (Adobe Connect, MS Teams, Zoom) to host virtual meetings and sponsor meetings.
  • Use schedule management software to support coordination of multiple overlapping meetings in different formats.
  • Experience with Agile is desired.
  • Take part in lessons learned meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Proven experience in GIS, including supervisory roles.
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience is required.
  • Ability to pass a US Public Trust background investigation for access to the client site and computing systems.
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in related field.

Additional Information:

  • In order to meet the clearance requirements for this opportunity, candidates must be authorized to work in the US.
  • All candidates will be subject to a complete background check to include, but not limited to Criminal History, Education Verification, Professional Certification Verification, Verification of Previous Employment and Credit History.
  • Public Trust background investigations can take approximately four to eight weeks and requires fingerprinting.

  • The salary for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 annually
