Job Description

Geo Owl is seeking a highly experienced GIS Project Manager to lead and manage complex geospatial projects. This role requires expertise in geospatial sciences and project management, with a demonstrated ability to oversee and deliver projects on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing teams, client relations, and project development in geospatial and remote sensing disciplines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in geography, GIS, remote sensing, or a related physical/biological/environmental/natural resource discipline.
  • At least eight (8) years of relevant experience in geospatial analysis and modeling.
  • Experience working with the U.S. Forest Service is required.
  • Must hold a GISP (Geographic Information Systems Professional) or PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, client maintenance, and supervision of geospatial/remote sensing projects.
  • Proven ability to assess priorities, balance workloads, and allocate staff resources effectively.
  • Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously and successfully leading them to completion.
  • Strong skills in communicating project outcomes and developments, both in written reports and verbal presentations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or PhD in geography, GIS, remote sensing, or related discipline.
  • Expertise in enterprise geospatial software applications such as Esri ArcGIS, ERDAS Imagine, eCognition, Summit Evolution, Agisoft Metashape, and Python.
  • Experience working with various sources of airborne or satellite imagery for geospatial projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-disciplinary teams in complex geospatial projects and deliver advanced geospatial analysis and modeling solutions.
