GIS Specialist

THE WORK: As a GIS Specialist, you’ll help clients leverage geospatial technologies to solve complex business and infrastructure challenges. This includes designing, implementing, and maintaining GIS solutions that integrate with broader digital transformation strategies.

Location : Across Australia where there is an Accenture Office - Hybrid 2-3 days in Accenture office or client office requirements.

Fulltime/permanent position within a consultancy.

What You’ll Do

• Data Management: Build, maintain, and optimize GIS databases and spatial data infrastructures.

• Analysis & Modeling: Perform spatial analysis, mapping, and visualization to support decision-making.

• Consulting: Work with clients to understand requirements and deliver tailored GIS solutions.

• Integration: Configure and troubleshoot GIS platforms, including Esri/ArcGIS and ETL tools like FME.

• Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams in utilities, urban planning, and environmental engineering projects.

• Innovation: Apply scripting (Python, SQL) to automate workflows and improve efficiency.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in ArcGIS/Esri software
• Strong knowledge of Python and SQL
• Experience with ETL frameworks (e.g., FME)

Professional Skills:

• Requirements analysis and business model strategy expertise

• Strong communication and presentation skills

• Ability to translate spatial requirements into high-level solutions

Education & Experience:

• Relevant tertiary qualification in GIS, geography, environmental science, or related field
