We are a talented, hardworking group that share values and characteristics that drive client, professional, and personal success. geocgi is looking for a GIS Specialist to be a part of our team delivering Installation Geospatial Information and Services support to the United States Marine Corps (USMC). The position is full-time and on-site at Marine Corps Base (MCB) Camp Butler in Okinawa, Japan. The GIS Specialist is responsible for specialized technical and analytical geospatial assistance that will support the maintenance of an Enterprise GIS. The candidate will support data development, SDSFIE standards integration, and quality verification processes. They will assist in maintaining geospatial data in an enterprise GIS implementation, aid in the maintenance of the geodatabase, and apply technical and programmatic knowledge of GIS. They are responsible for on-site client coordination and tasking for staff. To perform the duties of the GIS Specialist successfully, the candidate must be:

The following are requirements of the GIS Specialist:

• US Citizen and ability to obtain/maintain DoD Secret Clearance.
• Bachelor's Degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, or IT related field.
• 4 years of experience with the use and administration of Esri's ArcGIS Desktop and Server solutions.
• Experienced and knowledge in the implementation of the Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE) and preferably USMC GIS Data Model.
• Experience with GIS data development in a multi-user/enterprise environment .
• Experience with Global Positioning System (GPS) data collection process; field data collection methods, survey techniques and knowledge of accuracy standards.
• Expert user of Esri's ArcGIS software suite.
• Experience gathering requirements for applications from users of geospatial information.
• Experience providing formal and informal training.

The following are desired capabilities and experience of the GIS Specialist:

• Experience with Enterprise Data Models
• Experience with DoD IGI&S Programs
• Experience with Trimble's resource/mapping and survey grade GPS solutions
• Experience with Python
• Experienced in Military environments.
• Ability to work independently and proactively to take initiative to solve complex problems.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
