The Finance function works to accelerate business growth through ensuring that the company's operations run efficiently and effectively, ultimately enabling the achievement of company goals.
At Dolby Laboratories, we're looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented General Ledger Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team. In this role, you'll contribute to the accurate and efficient management of long-term assets, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure financial integrity and continuous improvement of our processes.
Responsibilities:
As a General Ledger Accountant, you'll be responsible for managing various aspects of accounting for long-term assets, including fixed assets, lease incentives, goodwill, and intangibles. You'll collaborate with our Senior Corporate Accounting Manager, Technical Accounting team, and other departments to research accounting issues, execute controls, and implement process enhancements. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and recording journal entries, conducting balance sheet reconciliations, and resolving identified issues.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to refine and enhance finance and accounting processes, contributing to a highly disciplined financial close.
- Providing timely, accurate accounting information to internal teams on an ad hoc basis.
- Maintaining process documentation and ensuring SOX 404 compliance for assigned areas.
- Proposing solutions to complex and ambiguous problems while driving continuous process improvements.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of new policies and procedures.
- Supporting internal and external audits.
- Taking on additional accounting-related projects as needed.
To succeed in this role, you'll need a solid understanding of US GAAP, particularly ASC 350 (Intangibles - Goodwill and Other) and ASC 360 (Property, Plant, and Equipment). You'll also be comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. In addition to technical accounting skills, you'll need to collaborate effectively with teams across the organization, including Finance, People and Places, Procurement, Accounts Payable, Internal Audit, Revenue, and IT.
Key qualifications include:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field.
- CPA certification (preferred).
- 2-3 years of accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP principles.
- Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail and follow-through.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
- A commitment to high-quality standards and ownership of your work.
The Atlanta Area base salary range for this full-time position is $68,300 - $80,700, which can vary if outside this location,plus bonus, benefits, and some roles may also include equity. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, competencies, experience, market demands, internal parity, and relevant education or training.
