Global Air Specialist
Job Description
Job Summary
Responsible for maintaining global airline contract agreements as well as developing and maintaining the overall air/sea offering, while also providing comprehensive knowledge to internal customers associated with guest and corporate travel.
Essential Job Duties
- Function as a fundamental resource for sales teams regarding the standards and delivery of the air program.
- Process air schedule ticketing, special requests, and schedule changes submitted by internal agents.
- Monitor and ensure air reservations are accurately displaying schedule and in line with cost norms; largely focusing on airline-driven changes/cancellations.
- Assist with invoice reconciliation ensuring all tickets issued through GDS/third party are accounted for via Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC) and are processed in a timely manner by accounting department.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of selected Global Distribution System (GDS) and all preferred partner airline contract details.
- Identify and understand complex international itineraries for the purpose of offering the best travel option to consumers.
- Routinely manage the air request queue for guest travel requests and air inbox for corporate/crew travel.
- Assist with configurations or project implementations related specifically to air system functionality.

Work Environment
Works in a typical office environment with quiet-to-moderate noise generated by computer printer, fax machine and light traffic.
Physical Demands
Requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, and reaching. May require lifting or pushing up to 25 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, calculators, the telephone, and other office equipment.
Expected Hours of Work
The position is full-time working from Monday - Friday. Occasional need for Overtime may be required in the evening and weekend.
Requirements
Education: Associates degree or equivalent combination of relevant background and/or professional experience in travel industry.
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar position.
- Proficiency in Amadeus GDS (or similar) is required.
- Familiarity with airline policies, procedures, and contract pricing is a plus.
- Multilingual preferred
Skills/Qualifications:
- Familiarity with domestic and international airline ticketing
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Deep knowledge of geography
- Results-driven & strategic thinker
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office
- In-depth logistical knowledge and mindset
