Global Application Engineer - Lower Completions - Remote - Houston, TX
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
- Candidate is a Subject Matter Expert in the Lower Completions product line with emphasis in Screen and GeoFORM technologies
- Provide technical and application support to global requests as well as assist in resolving technical and operational issues and challenges
- Work with other Subject Matter Expert as required to respond to complex issues
- Providing sales support and product application recommendations, including technical analysis/simulations supporting the recommended options
- Providing on-demand support in accordance with product portfolio or on-call schedule for job execution
- Accurately document any calculations/simulations/plan revision and/or changes during the project cycles for visibility to dependent teams and audit purposes
- Meet with customers to discuss the application and design of products and services and deliver technical presentations when required
- Develop and deliver training for field specialists, engineers and office-based support personnel and train customers on new and existing products and services
- Create and maintain global product manuals, operating procedures and best practices guides for the product line
- Ensuring compliance with Manage the Job Cycle (MtJC) process
- Comparing job as-planned versus job as-executed and document any lessons learned to ensure opportunity for continuous improvement
- Working on Field Incidents related to products/services
- Participating in Incident Investigation when required, ensuring end to end process, from job planning, preparation, and execution is considered to determine the incident root cause and drive appropriate corrective actions
- Ensuring timely incident management to enable fast customer issue resolution and cash collection
- Advising on product improvement opportunities for repetitive component/product failures
- Participate in product design reviews and to help ensure product introductions consider training, technical documentation and operating procedures are available and appropriate to support post sales activities
- Develop and teach training courses pertaining to complete product portfolio
- Assist in the development and improvement of global procedure, global competency
- Collaborates across engineering community to facilitate knowledge transfer and promotion of global standards
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or scientific discipline from an accredited university or relevant industry experience within product line
- Minimum 10+ years of relevant work experience in Lower Completions technologies with an emphasis on Screen and GeoFORM technologies
- Experience and ability to support several product lines within Lower Completions and beyond is desired.
- Excellent leadership, strong interpersonal, influencing and planning skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a global matrix organization
- Ability to be on call outside of normal business hours
- Must have the ability to travel globally for customer meetings, operations and rig site support, etc.
- The position is being setup as a remote role which can be supported from various countries in the Eastern or Western Hemisphere.
Desired Characteristics:
- Preferred prior experience includes roles such as: field/remote engineer, product development, applications engineer or other technical disciplines
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Facilitation and presentation skills.
- Ability to work and communicate well with others.
- Must be able to effectively communicate in English.
- Previous experience in presenting detailed and technical information preferred.
- Project Management Skills.
- Advanced problem-solving skills with respect to Applied Engineering, Design and Technology Development.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Power Point, Excel, etc.)
- Self-contained, self-motivated and structured to work within a global, interdisciplinary team under limited supervision with a strong commitment to learning and process improvement.
