The Role : Senior Organizational Strategist
You are an experienced business consultant and organizational strategist who demonstrates proactivity to navigate ambiguous environments. You bring customer love to life through developing trusted collaborative relationships and innovative solutions our customers need. You are curious and humble with a strong focus on people and doing what is right.
Core Responsibilities:
- Advise clients on organizational design options and approaches based on your experiences in the field and thorough understanding of methods and best practices
- Conduct workshops with clients to co-create new ways of working including new interaction models; revised leader, team, and individual metrics; enhanced roles and responsibilities; and work processes.
- Work alongside technology teams to explore how enterprise implementations influence and impact organization models and ways of working.
- Advise and lead efforts such as standing up Shared Services, Centers of Excellence, Product Teams, etc.
- Support merger integration efforts with a focus on organization design, organization structure, and people rationalization
- Understand the client's business challenge to facilitate discussions/workshops to align stakeholders around a shared mission, vision, and strategy
- Help clients articulate the unique value the new organization or business unit will provide to their stakeholders/customers
- Lead complex discussions, understand, and analyze organizational architecture, and design business interactions
- Facilitate discussions focused on the creation of different spans and layers for organization design in alignment with agreeing upon design principles, including the decision-making process with senior leaders
- Partner with executive teams to define new organizational structures, roles, workforce plans, and organizational frameworks to ensure the delivery of their mission, vision, and strategy
- Design business processes, decision-making, and interactions that drive business strategy and outcomes
- Design, develop and deliver stakeholder engagement activities to build awareness and adoption
- Collaborate with the businesses to transform and achieve their vision and objectives by aligning the right number and skills of people and roles in the organization
- Manage stakeholder resistance through both quantitative data and qualitative insights gathered specifically to identify 'red flags' (issues) and 'bright spots' (success)
- Work in multiple disciplines across industries and build client knowledge and credibility quickly; projects vary in length, lasting from weeks to years
- Collaborate with project teams to integrate process optimization and change management activities into the overall business transformation plan
- Co-create materials with designated client stakeholders to support the transformational change
- Contribute to the growth of our Global BAS team, including offering development, business development, recruiting/interviewing, customer story curation, and sharing best practices across the organization
Role Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- 8+ years of transformational organizational strategist experience; management consulting environment preferred
- Training in a formal process, such as The Star Model ™ or organization design certification
- Experience and knowledge of how to design and apply operating model and organization principles, methodologies, and tools - and know when to not over-engineer
- Experience in organizational assessment, workforce planning, and organizational design/structure that allow for capability development and organizational scaling
- Ability to lead the design and facilitation of strategic planning sessions - helping align all involved around a shared mission, vision, and strategy
- Strong skills with competitive research and analysis, strategic vision mapping, and systems thinking
- Outstanding interpersonal communication skills with audiences of all levels with the ability to convey ideas and recommendations in a clear, compelling, and succinct way
- Strong business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges
- Easily adaptable to new environments and embraces ambiguity
- Collaborative working style; team-oriented approach
- Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships - both in-person and remotely
- Experience mentoring and/or teaching others to use change, organization, and/or learning methodologies
- Advanced skills in Microsoft PowerPoint, Visio, Excel, Word, and virtual collaboration tools
