Nuveen is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our UK Consultant Relations team, as a Vice President. The successful candidate will serve as a key member of the UK Consultant Relations team in developing strategic relationships with key investment consultants across the entire suite of Nuveen’s investment capabilities. This will involve partnering with the Head of UK Consultant Relations and UK Sales team to ensure appropriate coverage of global and local Consultants based in the UK. This individual will work to foster relationships with counterparts at Investment Consulting firms resulting in the development and retention of assets for our investment strategies.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Build relationships with select global and UK local investment consultants, client field consultants and independent advisors in the UK in order to identify opportunities and any business at risk with the goal of increasing and retaining the assets invested across Nuveen affiliates.

  • Building engagement at senior management level, achieving ‘buy’ ratings for Nuveen products/ strategies (including identifying opportunities for collaboration), commercialising ratings with field consultants (in conjunction with UK Sales team)

  • Achieve activity through in-person meetings, email and phone-based engagement

  • Travel throughout UK to meet with regional consultants as and when required.

  • Develop, maintain and communicate knowledge of Nuveen’s investment expertise to influence Investment Consultant decisions.

  • Research the validity of public search opportunities.

  • Coordinate activities with the RFP Team for client and prospect requests for information.

  • Work closely with the Head of UK Consultant Relations to advance territory plans.

  • Compile management reports as needed.

  • Work with legal, product, compliance, and other operations contacts to ensure smooth on-boarding of new clients.

  • Identify, cultivate and drive relationships with centres of influence with respect to internal business partners

  • Fulfil sales support and service requests for product and marketing collateral.

  • Maintain and document activities through CRM.

  • Participate in Global Consultant team activities/ initiatives

  • Special project work as needed.

Technical Skills & Qualifications Required

  • Knowledge and understanding of financial markets and investment products across the range of traditional assets.

  • 5 years of experience working with consultants and a strong understanding of the UK institutional investment marketplace

  • Deep knowledge of working with investment consultants alongside a rolodex of contacts.

  • Commercially minded.

  • Experience with a broad range of asset classes particularly Fixed Income and Alternatives

  • Strong analytic skills.

  • Ability to develop strong client and consultant relationships and an in-depth understanding of client and consultant needs.

  • Sound time management skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines independently.

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel required

  • Self-starter who takes on an entrepreneurial approach to complete required tasks.

  • Detail oriented and highly organized.

  • Ability to communicate complex information and analysis in written and graphical form.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills in order to work collaboratively across multiple business units and levels of seniority.

This role requires you to have certified persons regulatory status as per FCA guidelines.
