Global Communications Review Specialist

We’re looking to hire a trustworthy Global Communications Review Specialist to execute communications reviews on a firmwide scale. This role sits within our Legal & Compliance team and will coordinate with individuals from all of our office locations — New York, London, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Amsterdam — to monitor communications such as emails, chats, and phone recordings for regulatory compliance. 

This function is currently sitting across many individuals at the firm. The person in this role will help centralize and organize this workflow, serving as a go-to review specialist for employees across offices. On any given day, you could be coordinating with colleagues in Hong Kong, our HR team in New York, or a department lead in London to gather information or make thoughtful decisions.

This opportunity is best suited for someone who is eager to work independently, can exercise discretion, and is excited to learn about the inner workings of Jane Street’s business. A successful candidate will be an efficient collaborator and communicator. We don’t expect you to have a background in finance or any other specific field — we’re looking for smart people who enjoy solving interesting problems. We’re more interested in how you think and learn than what you currently know.

• 1-3 years of experience in a legal & compliance environment; no specific regulatory or policy exposure required
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Discrete and trustworthy; able to use good judgment to make real-time decisions
• Communicates clearly with colleagues and external partners
• Not afraid to ask questions and admit mistakes
• Reliable and flexible team player with a positive attitude
• Eager to work independently, with the ability to escalate tasks when necessary and proactively following-up to close the loop on tasks and projects
• Fluency in English required
