Global Controller
Job Description
OverviewÂ
The Global Controller plays a vital role in supporting the finance and accounting functions. The primary responsibility will be to assist the VP, Global Controller, in overseeing the financial operations of the organization. The incumbent will work closely with various departments, helping to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and efficient financial processes to include oversight of the month-end/year-end financial statement close and the year-end audit. Additionally, they will work closely with the VP, Global Controller on M&A and ad hoc projects and initiatives as needed. The ideal incumbent will possess a strong background in accounting principles, manufacturing industry knowledge, and a keen eye for detail.Â

Essential ResponsibilitiesÂ
Financial Reporting:
- Financial Statement Consolidations; Assist in preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
- Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide meaningful insights to the management team for informed decision-making.
Month-end and Year-end Closing:
- Responsible for the month-end and year-end closing processes, review and approval of journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
- Review and approval of monthly, quarterly and annual balance sheet account reconciliations
Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Assist in designing and implementing internal controls to safeguard company assets and maintain compliance with relevant regulations and accounting standards.
- Assist in the implementation, documentation, and compliance with systems of internal controls and accounting processes & procedures best practices.
- Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations in preparation for and completion of the annual year-end audits.
Project Accounting, Financial Analysis and Decision Support:
- Partner with business unit Finance Directors in the review and approval of projects
- Collaborate with the VP Global Controller to evaluate capital expenditure projects, investment opportunities, and business expansions.
- Provide financial analysis and decision support for strategic initiatives.
Merger & Acquisition:
- Provide financial analysis and decision support for potential acquisitions.
- Partner in  the due diligence and post-closing activities, including net working capital true-ups, purchase accounting, goodwill valuations, etc.
Education and QualificationsÂ
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum 7 to 10 years’ experience in a management role ideally with both public accounting and in-house experience gained in a high growth organization.
- Licensed CPA; Must have an active CPA license, up to date with CPE requirements.
- Deep-seated knowledge/understanding of GAAP/IFRS.
- Proven Merger & Acquisition experience
- Proficient in financial analysis and project accounting processes.
- Demonstrated excellence in judgment, analytical and problem-solving capability.
- Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills to present financial information clearly and concisely to different audiences.
- Ability to effectively interface with senior management and collaborate with team members across the organization.
- Robust computer skills and ERP experience
- Ability to operate as an effective critical, tactical, and strategic thinker.
- Detail oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Process improvement driven.

- Experience working with Private Equity Firms
