About the role

This role will report directly to the CFO and will lead the day to day operations of the global accounting function. The Global Corporate Controller position will lead, drive, and direct the accounting function globally including monthly close of the general ledger, consolidation, reporting of financial results, lead an annual audit, optimization of processes and internal controls, compliance activities such as income tax returns and managing and developing the accounting team including making key hires as the Rokt continues to scale. The successful candidate will be able to adapt to a high-growth organization to drive operational execution, including preparing the business for a successful public listing. The role will have significant interaction with all executives and functional leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of accounting, including the month-end close process, internal and external reporting, and implementation of accounting policies & procedures, processes and internal controls
  • Lead, grow, empower and inspire a team of finance professionals located both domestically and internationally; work across the broader finance team to enable and deliver Rokt’s strategic and financial goals
  • As required in a Management position, evaluate and develop all accounting team members as Rokt continues to scale and job responsibilities evolve
  • Oversee the monthly financial close process to ensure timely and accurate accounting and reporting
  • Develop, implement and oversee company-wide accounting policies and controls consistent with SEC, US GAAP, IFRS and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
  • Liaise with external auditors to ensure a smooth annual and quarterly financial statement audit
  • Work cross functionally with various teams to automate manual accounting processes and reporting to ensure efficient and accurate flow of information between teams, particularly the people and legal teams
  • Communicate pending changes in accounting rules and regulations to senior management which carry financial or operational implications and partner with senior management to address them
  • Support Rokt’s IPO readiness including the migration from IFRS to US GAAP reporting
  • Support the migration off of a PEO model and implementation of a new payroll provider
  • Oversee federal, state, and local tax matters, ensuring compliance with tax laws and timely preparation of all related tax filings
  • Ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed
  • Assist with annual budget and quarterly re-forecast process
  • Assist with cash flow projections
  • Team with the FP&A function on the budget to actual process
  • Lead the statutory reporting process and requirement for Rokt’s various global entities


Requirements

  • 10+ years of combined technical accounting experience, including 5+ years of management and/or controller experience at public or late-stage private companies
  • Experience successfully operating in a global and public company setting is highly valued
  • Demonstrated adept handling of multiple competing priorities and duties in a fast-paced, results-driven and changing environment with minimal daily oversight
  • Experience leading through transformational change in the controllership function including acquisition integration, ERP system implementation, and internal control processes and procedures execution
  • Experience working with external auditors, regulators, SOX compliance and related issues
  • Experience with and knowledge of Workday preferred
  • Post ERP implementation optimization experience preferred
  • High growth technology industry experience preferred
  • Big 4 accounting experience preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or CA certified
