Job Description

It is the primary responsibility of the Global Development Associate to support the execution of initiatives and development efforts of MGM Resorts Japan LLC as it pursues an integrated resort license in Japan. This position assists in establishing and sustaining analytical reports and tools to improve the organization's overall development strategies. This position acts as project lead on Global Development initiatives involving leaders and SMEs from both internal MGM Resorts International division and third-party partners. The Associate will present recommendations based on analysis to Global Development leadership and third-party partners for consideration and execution. This position will report to the Senior Vice President Global Development.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner on Design & Development activities including providing analytical support on master plan, program, project budget, budget/cost control, forcasted projections, and creating and delivering messaging for stakeholder engagement.
  • Provide project management support to the schematic design phase of work through collaborating effectively with architects, contractors, advisors, consultants, and partners both in U.S. and in Japan. Uses feedback from business units and own analysis to provide recommendations on project tasks and timelines.
  • Supports the execution of key contracts and scope of work documents in a timely manner that allow an efficent start and complete phases of project work.
  • Conduct primary research and project management duties on the MICE, Entertainment, Hotel, Food & Beverage, Retail, and Gaming markets in Japan.
  • Responsible for performing due dilligence and evaluation (legal, financial, etc.) on potential partnerships with corporations, central and local governments, tourism agencies, vendors, etc.
  • Communicate research findings and project status updates with senior management effectively. Produce briefings for internal and external meetings as requested.
  • Partner with key departments to generate and distribute relevant information; present and communicate important information and insights to stakeholders as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or similar field.
  • 3 years work experience in a corporate environment, preferably with experience in Japan or in an Integrated Resorts Setting.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Gaming Registration as required by jurisdiction.
