About you and this role
Dow Packaging & Specialty Plastics (P&SP) has an exciting opportunity for a Global Digital Communications & Content Leader! This position can be located at any Dow U.S. location. It is expected that the successful candidate will collaborate across time zones with vendors and colleagues around the world.
This position is a rare opportunity for a creative and digitally talented communicator to lead the global digital communications and content strategy and tactics of its P&SP business. In the area of digital communications, you will have primary responsibilities for the effectiveness of P&SP's digital presence across social media, dow.com (both product and corporate sites), strategic online channels, and SEOs/SEMs. In global content, you will be accountable for overall storytelling and editorial calendar on all owned channels, including content strategy and development. Across all digital channels, the role owns organic and sponsored content, analytics platforms, the smart use of analytics and data to improve channel performance and lead generation, and governance and content management processes.
You will also lead the P&SP business communications measurement framework, a robust metrics report that delivers on a monthly and quarterly basis.
B2B communications today is strategic, digital first, and demands an approach that is cross-discipline and even more business focused than before. The successful candidate will be someone who has demonstrated strategic and creative use of digital and content to generate leads, engagement and reputation gains, and is excited to work with the team to use all tools and data available to positively impact business outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the global digital communications and content vision and strategy for the P&SP business in alignment with business and marketing growth strategy and communications priorities.
- Drive the implementation of this strategy with clear milestones and annual goals leading to the achievement of the vision.
- Create and manage the strategic content calendar for the P&SP business, ensuring consistent messaging across markets.
- Serve as subject matter expert and strategic advisor on all things that relate to digital communications, content and channels, providing counsel to business communicators and marketers on digital communications and content strategy, value, channel use, and performance analytics.
- Lead and drive changes within scope of work required to enable the digital transformation of the business.
- Bring latest learnings, trends, tools and analytics and refresh how we use digital to influence business context, differentiate the Dow brand, and drive customer engagement.
- Coach and enable the uplift of digital and content strategy and creation skills on the business communications team.
- Partner with marketing in ensuring that P&SP content on all sections of Dow.com, both public and gated, are inspiring, up-to-date and creatively presented.
- Lead the optimization of SEO content on dow.com and owned platforms for more efficient and effective SEM.
- Track and share performance analytics across all relevant sites and platforms, coaching the business communications and marketing teams on insights to be gained and improvements to be made.
- Represent P&SP on dow.com and other inspiration experience projects, managing internal and external relationships to enable business success.
- Represent P&SP on Dow's Content Advisory Board, working with corporate and business representatives to help drive an integrated approach to storytelling across Dow's communications channels.
- Strategically deploy a team of agency partners to meet P&SP's business communications goals, serving as focal point and managing budget and agency performance.
Qualifications
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant ranking.
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant working experience.
- A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in the United States or Canada. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of permanent residency (green card) process.
Preferred Skills
- 10+ years of relevant experience with clear achievements and skills in digital communications strategy, and program and channel management.
- Strong copy writing and editing, as well as a strength for creative storytelling.
- Robust knowledge of emerging digital trends, tools, and analytics.
- Ability to work with a diversity of cultures, across functions, regions and businesses and other stakeholder groups.
- Deft hand at managing multiple projects and clients concurrently.
- Ability to prioritize masterfully to address priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Able to successfully operate in a matrixed organization with minimal day-to-day direct supervision.
- Inquisitiveness coupled with the desire to continually improve systems, platforms, processes, etc.
- Ability to manage external agency partners.
