As a Global Director, Professional Education and Development supporting Global Vision Care, you will be trusted to develop and drive the execution of Health Care Professional (HCP) engagement and education aligned to franchise strategies and priorities, while being the internal subject matter expert for the global franchise and critical cross-functional teams.

A typical day in this role will include:

• Serving the franchise and portfolio teams, Business Development and Licensing teams, and Research and Development (R&D) teams as the subject matter expert for pipeline strategies, new product concepts, messaging, and go to market strategy
• Setting the priorities and plans to communicate, land, and amplify HCP 'reasons to believe' in Alcon's new product launches pre, during, and post commercialization of new products
• Ensuring a strong systematic approach to collection and integration of customer insights across all stage-gates with advisory board plans and ad hoc engagements
• Developing and enhancing relationships with global and regional Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) for insights on the pipeline, development opportunities, and areas of strategic focus (CL and OH)
• Influencing the strategies and plans for clinical data generation and publication planning to assert and amplify clinical superiority that influences positive prescribing behavior and decisions across the Vision Care portfolio
• Creating influential strategies and plans to own the Professional recommendation by developing best in class education, crafting consistency of messaging and efficiency of tactics for the broader Professional Education and Development team
• Developing and managing relationships/partnerships of major global professional organizations/associations, educational institutions, and researchers to be at the forefront of the industry
• Serving the portfolio teams in an advisory capacity on any clinical / technical / medical related issues involving Alcon products and professional challenges
• Providing clinical and technical support to the global communications team on product and/or category related issues affecting Alcon image in the marketplace
• Supporting R&D, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and Regulatory Affairs to monitor, understand, and provide expertise in identifying new product development opportunities and identifying / resolving product quality / performance issues
• Building competitive response plans through HCP insights, value analysis, outreach, and consultation
• Offering guidance as a thought leader in the industry for HCP peers on key industry topics, landscape, relevant disease states, and business priorities with a keen understanding of key communication platforms
• Fostering strong relationships with critical cross-functions and regional Professional and Education Development leads

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +18 yrs; Assoc.+14 yrs; M.S.+7 yrs; PhD+6 yrs)
• The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
• 10 Years of Relevant Experience
• 6 Years of Demonstrated Leadership

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

• Doctor of Optometry or OUS equivalence in optometry highly preferred
• 10-15 years clinical practice and/or industry experience
• Strong interpersonal skills suitable for working in a multinational/diverse environment
• Excellent category knowledge
• Demonstrated strategic leadership and recognition by the KOL community
• Strong ability to influence without authority
• Advanced presentation skills
• Fluency in other European languages are a plus
