The role involves managing the supply base strategic design, overseeing the corporate relationship with category key suppliers, negotiating with selected vendors according to specific policies, achieving the best contractual conditions while ensuring business continuity and internal customer satisfaction, and developing long and mid-term vision on the own function while contributing to the strategic plan of corporate supply chain.

As the Global Downhole Completions Tools Category Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Build comprehensive category plans, aligned with Baker Hughes corporate business goals and multiple product lines, considering market drivers and trends on pricing, risk management, and supplier performance.
  • Communicate the category plans to Supplier Performance Management, Sourcing, and Procurement teams to drive the execution of the selected strategies.
  • Support the execution and implementation of the sourcing pipeline, including negotiations and contracting strategies to achieve category deflation, cash optimization, supply base rationalization, spend under contract and other relevant KPIs.
  • Provides advice and guidance to functional management or business functions on strategies, projects, and other value generating programs.
  • Ensure spend is properly categorized in relevant business systems providing visibility and appropriate prioritization of sourcing and supplier management efforts.
  • Collect and analyze data related to category performance, supplier metrics, and market trends to drive improvements in spend.
  • Stay informed about innovative projects, alternative products, and industry regulations related to the category scope.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, Materials or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Procurement, Sourcing, Category Management, Operations or equivalent years of experience, with previous experience working in the technical field of the category scope.
  • Ability to lead through influence across multiple internal and external stakeholders, design sourcing strategies, challenge and support sourcing efforts, and follow up on implementation to deliver business results.
  • Deep understanding of market drivers' trends and analysis, translating them into actionable insights measuring and comparing business performance
  • Demonstrated track record of driving revenue growth and achieving sales & commercial targets through leveraging supplier base.
  • Strong experience with negotiation of contract and commercial terms and conditions and able to coach and influence others.
  • Excellent communication skills for building relationships with supplier's executives and internal teams
  • Strong project management skills with ability to plan tasks, assign resources, manage progress, remove barriers, manage change, resolve conflict, build consensus and motivate team members across multiple functions, regions and product lines.
  • Ability to work in a highly metric-driven environment and deliver against challenging performance targets such as top-line, bottom-line, and cash-flow.
  • Strong global leadership & influence skills that inspire trust, collaboration and operational excellence.
  • Excellent interpersonal, motivational and leadership skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and multitask in a flexible, fast-paced and challenging environment.
  • Understanding of Baker Hughes culture.
