The Role


At iDeals, we've experienced rapid growth and expanded our operations across 30 locations. As we continue to scale, we're gearing up to establish new locations to facilitate the growth of our team. With a vision to reach approximately 800+ iDealers and operate in 20 locations within the next 2-3 years, we're committed to enhancing our compliance practices.


We are looking for a Global Employment & HR Compliance Lead remotely in Spain, Poland or Ukraine. You will lead new locations set up, work across multiple jurisdictions with specific requirements from an Employment and Compliance perspective. Your impact will be instrumental in setting up processes for audits, maintaining global HR compliance standards, and efficiently managing the growing inflow of employment-related requests, including hiring, terminations, and relocations.


Collaborating closely with iDealers across Europe, America and Asia, you will report to the Director of People Operations. As a Global Employment & HR Compliance Lead, your input will help us ensure iDeals is compliant with the labor law in locations where we hire along with ensuring smooth experience for employees via reasonable policies and practices.

What You Will Do

  • Compliance Analysis and Solutions: Conduct comprehensive assessments of HR compliance gaps across all locations and implement effective solutions, including the development of policies and practice
  • Audits and Monitoring: Establish and operationalize internal audit processes to monitor changes in labor laws
  • Policy: Optimize and standardize company policies and approaches to promote equity in compliance practices across all locations
  • Lead New Locations Setup: Take charge of the setup process for new company locations, ensuring seamless integration and HR compliance
  • Contract Signing: Be responsible end to end for contract templates and contract signing for new hires
  • Audit and Tender Questionnaires: Support internal teams in audit and tender processes
  • Knowledge Base: Develop an internal knowledge base on employment law and internal practices
  • Business Partner: Act as a strategic advisor to senior stakeholders and internal teams
  • Vendor Relationship: Manage relationships with Employer of Record (EORs), legal advisors, immigration consultants, and oversee related procurement activities
  • Visa and Work Permit: Coordinate and arrange visas, work permits, and provide consultation on immigration matters
  • Mentorship: Be a mentor for a Global Employment Specialist

What We Look For

  • 5+ years of proven experience in the role of Employment and Compliance Specialist or similar position
  • Demonstrated expertise in global employment and HR compliance operations, particularly in Europe and America
  • Strong understanding of EU or USA regulatory requirements, GDPR, comp transparency regulations, DEI requirements
  • Experience of participation in external audits
  • Proven experience in standardizing processes, particularly in leave policies and public holidays, to minimize differences and ensure fairness
  • Proficient in arranging work permits and managing visa processes across different countries
  • Experience in establishing systems to monitor changes in labor laws
  • Ability to create clear, readable, and user-friendly policies and guides
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate across different cultural backgrounds
  • High attention to detail and consistency in work
  • C1+ English proficiency, ensuring effective communication in a global context

Nice To Have:

  • Experience in conducting and/or setting up internal audits
  • Experience in setting up visa sponsorship processes
  • Experience in due diligence and mergers and acquisitions (M&A)
  • Background in legal, tax, and/or accounting, contributing to a comprehensive understanding of compliance from multiple angles
  • Leadership experience or motivation for leadership
