This role serves as TransUnion's primary point of contact and subject matter expert regarding all aspects of the Global Ethics Compliance Program, and communicates with appropriate business unit leaders and management to ensure the program is managing key global ethics compliance risks.
What You'll Bring:
  • Minimum of 10 years professional experience in a global corporate compliance environment. Preference for experience in a corporate legal, internal audit, or finance organization with relevant compliance experience
  • Demonstrated, extensive experience building and/or enhancing global whistleblower helpline and conflict of interest programs, or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of SEC and DOJ regulations and enforcement policies.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills and a demonstrated record of cross-functional collaboration; understands and effectively balances internal and external stakeholder requirements, expectations and needs.
  • Experience interacting with international employee populations, and national and local regulatory agencies.
  • Strategic mindset; articulates credible visions of new possibilities that will create sustainable value to the Global Ethics Compliance function
  • Maneuvers comfortably through complex policy, process and people-related organizational dynamics; is sensitive to how people and organizations function and plans approach accordingly.

Impact You'll Make:
Global Ethics Helpline Program
  • Helpline Program Enhancements and Process Documentation
    • Establish and thoroughly document back-end process around intake and routing of helpline complaints. This will include establishing criteria and coordinating with internal stakeholders around the triaging and routing of helpline reports to ensure investigations are assigned to the appropriate business units in a timely manner.
    • Work closely with the internal helpline systems team to establish an efficient and effective system workflow. Work with the investigations team, the employee relations team, and other users of the helpline system to capture feedback and encourage streamlined and logical workflow.
    • Incorporate feedback from users of the system and recommend improvements to the helpline systems team on an ongoing basis.
    • Maintain helpline system documentation/help guides, around use of system for opening, assignment and closure of helpline matters. Conduct formal training sessions with users of helpline module.
    • Collaborate with other key stakeholders to ensure all relevant incidents submitted through other intake channels are included in reporting.
  • Helpline Program Operational Management
    • Develop and actively maintain cross-functional relationships across the enterprise to identify opportunities for program enhancements.
    • Maintain responsibility for oversight and ongoing maintenance of Transunion's telephone helpline service, and operate as primary point of contact with the vendor that supplies the service.
    • Oversee ongoing and routine testing of helpline website and phone lines. Ensure website and phone line are functioning properly and in adherence with all relevant domestic and international laws and regulations.
  • Helpline Communications and Awareness
    • Create a training and outreach program to inform and educate Transunion employees on the TransUnion helpline. Work cross-functionally with internal communications and other stakeholders to develop and execute a communication, training, and awareness plan for the helpline with goal of increasing utilization of helpline.
    • Develop and implement process to solicit periodic feedback on visibility and ease of use of TransUnion helpline.
    • Serve as TransUnion's subject matter expert and primary point of contact for ethics.
  • Helpline Metrics Production
    • Create comprehensive set of metrics to be produced regularly for multiple audiences, including senior leadership, external auditors, regulators, and TransUnion's Board of Directors.
    • Establish and document process for compiling metrics and metric templates for various audiences.

Conflict of Interest Program
  • Establish Conflict of Interest program and develop related processes
    • Establish overarching governance structure to review, approve, and escalate COIs.
    • Establish triage/escalation process, define appropriate parties within CID to handle escalation and approval processes.
    • Define set of criteria to support approval/decisioning.
    • Operationalize handling and processing of COIs, document processes for disclosing, assessing, and maintaining records of conflicts. Train relevant parties on COI handling.
    • Establish authorities (e.g., Risk & Compliance Committee) to oversee and enforce the COI policy.
    • Long-term goal of program will include issuing proactive COI questionnaires to targeted groups within TransUnion and establishing annual attestation process for all associates and contractors.
  • COI Tracking and Reporting
    • Create centralized repository of COI conflicts received, communication with Covered Persons, and decision outcomes.
    • Develop comprehensive metrics for the COI program to be shared with various internal audiences, including senior leadership.
  • Ongoing COI Program Management
    • Continuously review and enhance COI policy, and ensure adequate awareness of policy updates for new and existing employees.
    • Look for opportunities to automate and gain efficiencies in processes.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Serve as subject matter expert for the Whistleblower and Conflicts of Interest policies, spearheading edits and updates for ultimate approval by senior leadership.
  • Assist with critical, time-sensitive CID related programs and projects, on an as needed basis.
