Global Finance Intern (Multiple openings)

Simplot Company is a true farm-to-table company with operations that touch every aspect of agriculture, including seed production, farming and ranching, plant sciences, fertilizer manufacturing, food processing, commercial product development, and distribution.

Summary

The JR Simplot Company Global Finance Team is recruiting for multiple internship opportunities across summer and fall 2023. This is your opportunity to learn first-hand about the company and responsibilities of our Accounting, Treasury, Financial Planning and Analysis, Internal Audit, Tax, or Enterprise Services functions.

Summer Internships: Traditional full time internship assignments approximately three months in duration

Fall Internships: part time ~20 hrs / week experiential learning internships conducted in coordination with BSU accounting and finance faculty members to connect work assignments and relevant academic research.

Both tracks are paid internships which will receive course credit if available under your school's policies. It is possible to participate in a summer internship in one department, and a fall internship in another. Candidates selected to interview will meet with multiple hiring managers to determine the best mutual fit for department and internship track.

All internship programs are designed to provide an immersive introduction to the JR Simplot Company, with intern events, executive engagement, facility visits, management presentations and other learning opportunities in addition to your day-to-day responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities may include:

• Plan and execute large improvement projects in coordination with your mentor and project team
• Deliver presentation on your experience to JR Simplot Company executives
• Recording and maintain accurate and complete financial records
• Month-end and year-end preparation including pulling and analyzing reports and posting assigned journal entries
• Prepare and review weekly costing reports
• Insightful analysis into business processes or industry topics, such as company comparable analysis, valuation, pricing, and forecasting
• Research and data entry

Typical Education

• Enrollment in an Academic accounting or finance program, from a nationally accredited educational facility/university and working toward an accounting or finance degree
• Completed at least an Intermediate Accounting course required for accounting department internships
• Must be at least a Junior or above in Accounting/Finance program

Other Information

• Ability to quickly learn routine computer applications.
• Self-starter with a working knowledge of excel
• Motivated to seek opportunities for growth and development
• Ability to meet deadlines and work in a team environment.
• Expected to work at least 20 hours per week during the school year (if applicable)
