Global Head of Clearing and Operations

Tower Research Capital, a high-frequency proprietary trading firm founded in 1998, seeks a Global Head of Clearing and Operations to join our Finance team. This role reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

The Global Head of Clearing and Operations is responsible for management of the Tower post trade platform. The candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Trade Operations and Middle Office teams, as well as acting as the primary bridge between our technical and business teams to improve, maintain, and scale Tower's products and systems. The candidate will work with other members of the management team to facilitate Tower’s global clearing relationships. 

Tower is embarking on a major multi-year initiative to enhance and automate its post trade platform. The candidate is expected to be the lead sponsor of this initiative and work closely with the project delivery team.

Responsibilities

• Managing and supervising of teams responsible for Trade Operations and Middle/Back Office functions
• Overseeing Tower’s clearing relationships including review of fees, services and annual due diligence meetings. Collaborating with Business Management staff on our global Prime Brokerage relationships
• Partnering with the Tower Finance function to build out a comprehensive Tower control framework (throughout the trade lifecycle)
• Evaluating and delivering the global post trade platform initiative (as Lead SME and Project Sponsor)
• Managing the specification and prioritization of improvements to the post trade platform
• Participating in the onboarding of new markets and new trading teams to Tower, ensuring all operational capabilities are addressed
• Managing relationships with third party vendors and internal service providers and managing service levels as they relate to the Operations function
• Establishing and managing metrics and service level agreements with internal and external partners to ensure service availability, quality, and responsiveness of services

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years of experience managing a geographically dispersed team
• Experience working at a hedge fund or asset management firm preferred
• Expertise in operations, including clearing, settlement, and corporate actions
• Experience in leading and managing middle or back office teams
• Strong project management and post trade platform installation experience (either partnering with internal technology teams or 3rd party vendors)
• Strong financial product knowledge, including key components / controls through trade lifecycle (execution to settlement)
• Experience managing service provision through SLAs Extensive control framework
• Experience in multiple asset classes preferred
