Global Intern

Position Description:

We are seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, and self-starting individual interested in Mathematica's mission and commitment to equity to participate in Mathematica Global's summer intern program. Summer interns will contribute to a variety of strategy and business development activities that support the Global unit's growth in areas such as education, agriculture, health, and climate.

As a Global Intern, you will have the opportunity to:

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of Mathematica's capabilities, competitive environment, and market to inform the Global unit's strategic business development efforts
• Build relationships and work closely with leaders in the Global unit

The intern responsibilities include but are not limited to the following tasks:

• Conducting independent research to connect the priorities of potential clients to the Global unit's lines of work, contracting opportunities, and potential partners
• Scanning competitive industry trends and conducting business intelligence to produce business landscape status reports for strategic clients
• Supporting preparation of proposals, expressions of interest, and capability statements
• Assisting with knowledge management needs, including in SharePoint and Excel
• Drafting correspondence, assembling presentation materials, recording notes for meetings, and documenting findings
• Conducting analyses (for example, in Excel) to support financial management
• Support drafting of blog posts, articles, and thought pieces on the Global unit's work

Position Requirements:

• Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in economics, business administration, international development, public administration, public policy, or another relevant field
• Demonstrated interest in public policy research and/or data
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and/or PowerPoint
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Accuracy with work, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail
• Willingness to take on challenges, learn new subject matter, and think creatively

This is a full-time (40 hours per week) position. The role offers an anticipated hourly rate of $19-$22/hour.
