Global MarComms Leader
Job Description
Market: Preference for New York, NY; Flexible for the right candidate-Hybrid Work Structure
The Role:
We are currently recruiting for one of the agency's most important roles: Global Marketing Communications (MarComms) Leader. This individual is responsible for building BCW's brand awareness and reputation among multiple key stakeholder audiences (clients, prospects, talent, industry influencers) and generating demand for our services.
While there is no one kind of BCW person, everyone at BCW has something in common: A mindset, a way of responding to challenges with openness, curiosity and a commitment to learning. BCW will feed that drive by rewarding courageous tenacity and nurturing your dynamic career.
Perks of working at BCW:
- Paid time off for vacation, sick and personal days, as well as Summer Fridays and a Flexible Holiday Policy. We also offer paid time off for voting, jury duty, bereavement and school leave. In addition, our offices are closed for Winter Break between Christmas Eve and New Year's Day.
- 12 weeks paid Parental Leave
- Wellness benefits including healthcare, vision, dental and pet insurance
- 401K Savings and Investment Plans
- Commuter benefits using pre-tax dollars per month to pay for eligible commuting & parking expenses
- Career growth opportunities through continued education, training & development courses, and BCW's Career Pathing program.
- Employee Resource Groups that provide our employees the platform to network, build key leadership skills, gain greater visibility and access to senior leadership, have an impact at BCW and the outside community and accelerate their careers.
The Team:
The Global MarComms Leader reports into Brooke Hovey, Global President. This individual collaborates closely with senior leadership on "Moving People" initiatives, as well as regional MarComms teams executing regional initiatives (Europe & Africa, Latin America, Asia Pacific and Middle East). This leader is actively involved in the direct management of our North America MarComms team, as North America is our largest region. We expect this individual to spend approx. 50% of his/her time on North America and 50% on Global initiatives/coordination, though this split may fluctuate based on business priorities.
Direct reports include specialist leaders for various workstreams (e.g., awards, thought leadership, internal comms, issues).
What is the work?
- Develop a targeted, proactive, global marketing communications strategy to create positive visibility for BCW in the marketplace
- Partner with Senior Leadership to spearhead the "Moving People" brand platform (e.g., thought leadership institute, proprietary insights tool, content marketing); support execution of these initiatives, while addressing the broader MarComms needs of the organization; for example:
- OWNED & SOCIAL PLATFORMS: Optimize the current content and paid media strategy to reach the right audiences and drive business outcomes (e.g., lead generation)
- AGENCY NEWS: Maximize the reach and impact of BCW's news (e.g., new hires, new client solutions)
- THOUGHT LEADERSHIP & EXECUTIVE VISIBILITY: Partner with Global/Regional/Market/Practice Leaders to develop content (aligned to growth strategies) that can be amplified externally
- EVENTS (VIRTUAL + IN-PERSON): Partner with Global/Regional/Market/Practice Leaders to identify and coordinate high-impact regional events (i.e., Where should we be? How should we show up?)
- AWARDS: Lead awards strategy and partner with Client Leaders to improve outcomes
- INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS: Lead strategy, craft communications from the leadership team, and create opportunities for two-way dialogue
- REPUTATION & ISSUES: Work with the team to anticipate and mitigate potential issues that could harm BCW's reputation
- Lead execution in North America (our largest market); collaborate with MarComms leaders/teams in the other four regions (LATAM, Europe & Africa, Middle East, Asia)
- These regions operate with significant autonomy; however, there are opportunities to share best practices, identify/shape global stories, and find synergies in global events (e.g., Cannes)
Experience that contributes to your success:
- 15+ years of marketing communications experience; some PR agency experience preferred
- Strong business/financial acumen, including the business of an agency business
- Experience operationalizing a vision and strategy
- Experience building and leading a team through times of transformation
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills along with strong attention to detail
- Desire to work in a diverse and inclusive organization as an active participant in culture initiatives, training opportunities and employee resource groups
