Job Description

Change.org is searching for a Global Marketing Manager to help deliver exceptional experiences to millions of users and inspire potential movement leaders to discover and choose Change.org for their campaigns. We’re a social impact business (a public benefit company), and the largest tech platform focused on civic action in the world with 100MM monthly users, 50,000 campaigns launched on the site every month, and 150 staff. We’re growing quickly, and our users win campaigns for change once every hour. From strengthening hate crime legislation in South Africa; fighting corruption in Indonesia, Italy, and Brazil; to fighting violence against women in India.

A Global Marketing Manager is someone who plays a lead role in how we design, prioritise, and operationalise an effective tech-first approach to a globally distributed campaign marketing program. With an initial focus and expertise in large-scale email marketing - this role will also support our expansion and expertise into new channels.

You will support your team to set, track and pace to goals and reliably serve users with high-quality, delightful experience at scale. You have a passion for expanding our platform to mobilize millions of people to take deeper civic action and excel at cross-functional communication. You own experimentation across the team, maintain a commitment to openness, and actively seek to remove obstacles in the engagement funnel.

You are a perfect fit for this role if your superpower is being motivated by a sense of empowering people to drive social change, thriving in flexibility, and leveraging data to make informed decisions.

You will manage a Senior Email Specialist and report to the Director of Global Marketing. You will partner with Product members within your team and across the organisation to play a lead role in delivering a user-obsessed model that balances the best of automation, personalisation and human-led editorial excellence.

In this role, you will:

  • Own the strategy, planning and execution of marketing activities predominantly in the US and Canada
  • Prioritise tactics and resourcing to meet shifting goals, aiming for efficient win-wins while making trade-offs that maximise alignment with other departments in the process.
  • Manage the daily send schedule across US and CA - ensuring the most timely content of the day reaches our users
  • Partner with local, regional and global teams to build out scalable marketing solutions across the world
  • Monitor macro level performance of emails and engagement experiments across the team, regularly communicating insights and trends from the work with stakeholders throughout the company and translating that into actionable wins
  • Partner with our campaigns team to give marketing expertise, helping them build momentum through effective copywriting and creative lifecycle activations
  • Partner with our product team to improve our marketing technology - helping us to improve targeting, personalisations and recommendations

The most important capabilities for the role are:

  • Proven ability to work with large, complex data sets with the ability to investigate, diagnose and lead to solution any issues or opportunities in the engagement funnel
  • High-energy for fast-paced, flexible execution of work in a news-cycle driven marketing environment
  • Ability to persuade and influence stakeholders across all levels through data and effective collaboration
  • Low ego and willingness to roll up their sleeves and support the team on all levels of work
  • A role model who is able to build a culture of planning ensuring that the team's strategy, goals, and roadmap are guiding everyone's work.

Target experience

  • 8+ years of relevant experience within senior marketing roles
  • A T-shaped technologist with a deep expertise in email marketing and a broad understanding of other engagement platforms (social / SMS / SEO).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organization; passion for improving processes and workflows.
  • A moderate level of understanding of the campaigning landscape in the US and how to create marketing communication that inspires action at every touch point.
  • Ability to manage a wide range of responsibilities, thrive on solving challenging problems, and not be afraid to challenge the status quo.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • A fingers-on-the-pulse understanding of trends in the marketing landscape in terms of deliverability, data privacy or customer behaviour
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and working with conflicting priorities - able to establish strategic direction and execute effectively in a global, matrixed organization
  • Experience with large audience digital products.
  • Experience in multi-countries marketing programs.

Additional preferred experience

  • Multilingual fluency - English with Spanish and/or French (reading, writing, and/or speaking)
