ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is for an Analyst joining the US Power & Renewable desk in Houston, Texas. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the below:

- Maintain production simulation models used for analyzing and trading the US power market

- Apply quantitative analysis related to transmission products, such as FTRs (Financial Transmission Rights) in the pricing and hedging of those products

- Develop and apply analytical tools and methodologies in the derivation and marking of transmission line losses (TLLs) in the electricity markets

- Develop quantitative methodologies to value the change in hourly scalars from increased solar and wind generation in different control areas in the eastern ISOs

- Assist the desk in doing scenario analyses related to the new power generation and unit retirements

- Maintain pricing curves for power basis locations in the PJM and MISO power markets

- Support the sales desk in pricing and executing sales transactions in the power basis space

- Participate in the congestion auctions to procure inventory or hedge basis exposures related to client transactions

- Assist the trade desk in daily operational activities in regards to position management and PNL reporting
