What you'll do
Cloudflare is seeking an experienced payroll professional with expertise in employee mobility to join our Finance team. As Cloudflare continues to grow, so too does our mobile employee population and the complexities of administering global payroll. The Mobile Payroll Specialist will work closely with the Global Mobility team to understand upcoming moves and proactively assess the payroll and tax implications to Cloudflare and the employee. In this role, you will report to the Global Payroll Manager and be responsible for overseeing the income reporting and tax withholding for mobile employees.
Responsibilities

• Partner with Global Mobility to track employee moves and assess payroll reporting considerations.
• Provide guidance to payroll processors and reconcile payroll output to ensure timely and accurate reporting of mobile employee transactions.
• Research and apply for/renew certificates of coverage or exemption from local social insurance.
• Manage and review shadow payroll and tax equalization calculations prepared by third party vendor, and work with payroll processors to ensure accurate reporting in the payroll system.
• Review mobile equity income allocations prepared by third party vendor to ensure consistency with Cloudflare withholding policies and compliance with local tax withholding laws.
• Perform periodic reviews of data from critical systems (ADP, Workday, Equity Edge) to confirm all move details are accurately reflected.
• Coordinate with Accounting to ensure all relocation payments and allowances are accurately booked.
• Communicate effectively with employees the reporting and taxation of relocation benefits, equity events (e.g., RSU releases), and other tax consequences associated with their move.
• Respond to payroll related tickets from mobile employees.
• Supports general payroll initiatives/projects, assists the payroll team with requests from auditors, and is capable of providing support to the payroll processors during busy season.

Examples of desirable skills, knowledge and experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business and/or equivalent combination of education
• 5-8 years overall payroll experience, including 2-3 years with mobile payroll
• Deep understanding of multi-jurisdiction income reporting and tax withholding requirements.
• Knowledge of income and withholding rules in multiple of the following countries: US, UK, Canada, Singapore, China, Germany, France, India, Australia, Japan, UAE, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
• Experience reporting relocation programs through payroll.
• Knowledge of shadow payroll and tax equalization processes and reporting.
• Understanding of social insurance exemption rules and processes, including but not limited to Portugal and Germany.
• Experience with ADP WorkforceNow, Workday, Equity Edge, and Cloudpay.
• Familiarity with immigration policies and procedures pertaining to work permits and visas.
• Ability to demonstrate strong attention to detail and well-organized
• Ability to work independently and effectively prioritize projects with conflicting deadlines
• Strong analytical and Microsoft Excel skills.

Compensation
Compensation may be adjusted depending on work location. For Colorado-based hires: Estimated annual salary of $90,000 - $110,000.
