As part of the Global Product Group Insulation & Components, you’ll be at the forefront of advancing technology for high voltage insulation. Our insulation solutions comprise cellulose-based insulation, such as pressboard and paper for power transformer applications, flexible laminates for dry-type transformers and motors, and fiber-composite materials including hollow-core insulators.

Your responsibilities

As a Global Product Specialist for Insulation in Business Unit Transformers, you’ll be a key player in our mission. Here’s how:

1. Innovation

• Analyze market and technology trends within the electrical industry and beyond.

• Shape our insulation roadmap by understanding customer needs and industry dynamics.

• Identify opportunities for digitalization to enhance the customer experience.

2. Customer Support and Representation

• Leverage your deep expertise in insulation materials to assist our valued customers.

• Represent Hitachi Energy in technical forums and standardization bodies, advocating for cutting-edge solutions.

• Support customer transformer test failure investigations and lead root-cause analyses.

3. Collaborative Leadership

• Work closely with product management, R&D, and insulation factories to create compelling business cases for new products and investments.

• Champion market and customer requirements, ensuring alignment with our objectives.

4. Customer Engagement

• Collaborate with local and regional teams to capture market needs

• Provide sales support, participate in customer meetings, and attend trade shows.

• Understand pain points and develop value propositions that resonate with our clients.

Your background

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, leading cross-functional teams

• Thrive in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines with a sense of urgency

• Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels

• Intellectual curiosity, self-awareness, and openness to feedback

• Fluent in English, with a willingness to travel for business requirements

• MSc or BSc in Engineering or equivalent diploma qualification

• 8+ years of experience in Transformer Insulation or Power Transformer Engineering.

• Strong technical knowledge of Transformer Insulation

• Track record of managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders

• Demonstrated interaction with customers and international standards groups

• International experience and intercultural sensitivity

• Structured and analytical thinking, coupled with a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach
