We are seeking a Strategic Pricing Manager to lead the global pricing strategy efforts for our Motion Control business unit of Intelligence Devices.
The Global Strategic Pricing Manager responsible for developing, evaluating, and driving the business unit pricing strategies and models based on current business and competitive market dynamics. In addition, this role is accountable for managing price to optimize sales revenues and margins - for new offerings as well as existing solutions.
This role will coordinate and support all pricing intelligence activities including but not limited to the development of robust price models that will allow the business unit to make key business decisions around price positioning and go to market strategy, promotions, and growth initiatives. This will include models to support price elasticity, value-based pricing strategies, and other data analytics solutions or tools to support our global pricing strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all new product introduction pricing activities. Ensures competitive price levels are set to set to achieve business strategy and objectives.
- Lead segment level pricing guidance activities differentiated by customer segments such as customer type, size, and industries for global and local customers. Lead outlier management process. Work with channels organization on distributor discounting guidelines.
- Lead the analytics improvement efforts in collaboration with IT and other cross functional organizations.
- Create a value-based pricing culture supported by market and customer intelligence and financial models.
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, Revenue Management, Finance, and Product management, using quantitative and qualitative data to define pricing changes, design experiments, and implement those changes across our product suite.
- Define, improve, and simplify pricing structure for the portfolios, such as list price, discounts, and portfolio alignment and simplification. Ensure strategies are consistently documented and supported with data and analytics.
- Create and establish rules to reduce cycle time and improve turnaround time on pricing opportunities, internally and externally.
- Drive price realization/variance activity, provide guidance to improve price realization without negatively impacting business. Comfortable with large set of data and interpreting it into meaningful trends and insights.
- Collaborate with Global Revenue Management organization to execute pricing strategy. Review decision authority set points. Work with business leaders and Global Sales to set market levels that optimize sales growth while maintaining profitability.
- Lead pricing competency development within the organization and automation of next generation data analytics and capabilities for reports and dashboards.
- Support pricing activities to include annual price adjustment, negotiated pricing contract analysis, decision authority, outlier management and contract evaluations for the organization.
- Demonstrate integrity, positive attitude, solid work ethic, commitment to stakeholders, passion for excellence and adherence to Rockwell Automation policies.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
- Up to 10% travel
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Business, Finance, Analytics
- Typically requires 8 years of experience through, contracting, pricing, or sales.
- Commercial experience preferred
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into value-added business analytics solutions. Process oriented and analytical in approach
- Demonstrated grasp of financial concepts, and data management
- Experience with product pricing
- Proficiency with Commercial Price Optimization/ Guidance tools such as Vendavo or PROS is a plus
- Proficiency in working with large scale data models, financial modeling, deal desk, commercial operations, profitability modeling, discount programs, and other robust pricing strategies or applications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Power BI, Power Apps or other business analytics or price optimization applications
- Commercial pricing or business consulting roles
- Excellent time management, organizational and problem-solving skills; able to manage and execute on simultaneous projects
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Excellent interpersonal skills to work with different levels of business leadership and individual business users
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate & influence at all levels in the organization
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to make complex concepts understood by diverse non-technical audiences
- Demonstrated ability to build & leverage networks
- Motivated leader, self-starter with ability to lead by example
