Global Supply Manager

First Mode is seeking to grow its skillset in supply chain and production. As a member of the team, with broad experience in researching, finding, auditing, developing and contracting new and novel supply chain partners, the Global Supply Manager will be the backbone of the hardware procurement group.

Position Responsibilities

• Establish and manage strategic partnerships with suppliers
• Evaluate supplier core competencies and competitive positioning
• Drive supplier contracting activity, including NDAs, RFI/RFP, POs and Master Supply Agreements
• Negotiate complex multi-year agreements with suppliers
• Manage change and stop work orders as needed in often ambiguous phases of product lifecycle
• Partner closely with in-house engineering and manufacturing to understand supply requirements and deliver on expectations
• Lead vendor selection process with engineering teams
• Manage on-time delivery from global suppliers to global First Mode R&D and manufacturing locations
• Manage supplier relationships and dispute resolution
• Translate concepts/assumption into a tangible solution that delivers value
• Develop/enhance supply chain processes
• Mentor junior team members on supply chain principles
• Develop/lead/execute supply chain projects

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in global supply management
• Significant experience negotiating with suppliers
• Significant experience supporting the launch of new, highly engineered products
• Demonstrated ability supporting rapid product iteration and manufacturing ramp-up
• Bachelors degree in engineering, business, supply chain management or related discipline
• Comfortable with ambiguity and ability to work autonomously in a highly iterative environment
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Experienced and comfortable presenting to executive leadership

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA or Masters degree in supply chain management
• Experienced working with R&D engineering on rapid product iteration in industrial or transportation product development
• Experience in electric vehicle development and manufacturing
• Experience developing supply chain business processes from first principles
• Experienced using ERP/MRP systems to support all aspects of supply chain including ordering, receiving, reporting, item creation/management and supplier management

Additional Requirements

• Travel about 30-40% of the calendar year

• This position will be located at First Mode’s headquarters in Seattle, WA and will be required to work in office >60% of working hours

Total Rewards

Base Salary Range: $102,850 - $154,800

      Associate Global Supply Manager: $102,850 - $130,075

      Global Supply Manager: $122,400 - $154,800
