Overview

This is a hybrid position with in-office days at the corporate headquarters located at Penn Square in downtown Lancaster, PA.

Performs a variety of duties in support of department operations. Primary functions revolve around letter of credit processing, maintenance, compliance and information reporting. Secondary functions include review, verification and tasks required in processing export lines of credit. Coordinate transactions with commercial lenders, legal, loan operations and directly with customers to meet required deadlines. Other duties focus on assisting management in maintaining efficient and accurate operations and delivering superior customer service both to internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

  • Process letters of credit and properly verify related loan documents ensuring that all conform to legal and lending requirements. Input data for letter of credit activity into the appropriate operating system. Prepare monthly reports on letter of credit outstanding items, delinquent accounts receivable and other reports as directed. Advise Fulton Bank and affiliate bank loan officers and branch managers on requirements for letters of credit. Advise and assist internal and external customers with complex issues, and processing of letter of credit transactions. Assist with the more complicated aspects of the billing process and its related management reporting systems. Help track accounts receivable and update delinquency reports. Support record keeping for Fulton Bank and affiliate letters of credit and maintaining the access database and all necessary reports as directed. Follow requirements and compliance with all bank secrecy act programs. Maintain familiarity with industry standards and requirements for letters of credit. Assist less experienced staff as needed.
  • Review and maintain documentation in accordance with letter of credit terms, conditions and requirements. Carefully examine all presented shipping documents against commercial letter of credit requirements. Document and escalate any discrepancies to management. Coordinate resolution with customer to help ensure compliance with letters of credit. Initiate department specific messages to foreign banks as required and maintain understanding of department specific messages and global correspondent bank network.
  • Review and process requests for advances under trade finance lines of credit. Conduct necessary compliance checks. Ensure accurate funds movement and accounting postings. Responsible for completing and maintaining all necessary reporting.

Qualifications

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent. Specialty: Does not apply at this level of education. (Required)

Associate Degree or the equivalent experience. Specialty: Relevant degree pertaining to the essential duties of this role. (Preferred)

Experience

3 or more years Business, banking and direct experience in letter of credit trade operations. (Required)

0 to 6 months Knowledge of articles and documents as it relates to standby letters of credit and international trade. (Preferred)

Specific compensation offered will be determined based on a combination of factors including the candidate's knowledge, skills, depth of work experience, and relevant licenses/credentials. The salary range may vary based on geographic location.

The hourly rate for this position is $18.25 - $27.16.
