Job Responsibilities: What you will do
Focus is to design market network that maintains target profit margins while continuously improving operational efficiency, customer service and driver retention. Develop and implement improvement standards of pricing management for greater profit and growth for all customer transactions in assigned geographic location or line of business. Provide quality information to assist others in making good decisions and act as a catalyst in providing positive and constructive contributions in response to changing business environment.
- Lead daily work functions for assigned geographic region or line of business. Develop and monitor group performance metrics.
- Allocate analyst resources to ensure more critical opportunities are handled appropriately.
- Use expertise to improve pricing systems and procedures in order to drive more effective price decisions.
- Create a clear freight selection strategy that meets driver needs and increases rates.
- Identify operation strategies and coordinate across all lines of business to improve utilization while reducing empty miles and deadhead.
- Evaluate effectiveness of pricing structures and lead re-design efforts which support operational/financial goals.
- Improve freight selection while maintaining a continual focus on freight velocity, seasonality and lane flow.
- Review capacity commitments by customer, market and lane.
- Interacts with all areas of the company with heavy emphasis on sales, operations and corporate support functions such as administration and billing.
- Communicate routine reviews to others in pricing department and provide any training needed to ensure goals are met.
- Work closely with the other department leadership to clearly identify and develop strategic plans which optimize our network pricing and balance; ensure strategic plans are in alignment with corporate goals and objectives.
- Identify/forecast market shifts and create strategic plans to adapt to or correct these shifts.
- Develop, recruit and retain highly qualified pricing/account analyst professionals in addition to conducting annual employee reviews and performance counseling as necessary. Ensure team work load is balance to provide best in class service and accuracy from and for the team.
- Develop and implement quality improvement processes and tools. Provide recommendations on both overall team and intradepartmental improvement opportunities.
- Develop and lead reporting methodology's on bid success rate/market performance.
- Prepare and participate in customer and market reviews; report recommendations and finding to leadership on results and potential issues.
- Proactively work to assist others in achieving the organization's objectives.

Qualifications: What you need to bring
- 6 years' experience in sales, contract administration and/or pricing in the transportation industry required.
- Previous leadership experience preferred.
- Bachelors in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Report generation
- Mathematical, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to interpret user needs and translate into system requirements.
- Ability to understand system data and to identify discrepancies
- Previous knowledge of system analytics helpful
