Go-To-Market Enterprise Architect
Job Description
As a Staff Enterprise Architect in the Business Applications team, you will recommend and prioritize technology strategy & architecture at enterprise level, to align with Uber's B2B business goalsAs part of the Enterprise Architecture team, you will be responsible for accelerating the value of architecture across the GoToMarket Tech stack by embedding architectural mindset and principles into engineering processes and talent. This role will require deep collaboration with various leaders and senior individuals across the company to build consensus and an in-depth understanding of key Deal Management processes and the applications and technologies that support them. This requires the ability to seamlessly blend engagement skills, business understanding, critical thinking, technical mastery, and architectural knowledge to drive to define an BTE roadmap that will scale and mature business capabilities.
This position requires you to be a self-starter with the ability to take ownership, prioritize, and handle various tasks simultaneously. In addition, strong verbal communication and written documentation skills are a must for this role for promoting ideas throughout the business to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Responsibilities:
- Create and execute an agile data and technology deployment plan that delivers future technology and data stack and supports integration of new 'global-first' business processes
- Define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for overall architecture to facilitate strategic and long-range planning for a set of broad business objectives
- Responsible for chairing the Enterprise Architecture Council meetings with pre-prepared architecture solution options and final recommendations on proposal by Project teams. Act as the tie-breaking vote on the committee's final recommendations.
- Articulate technology strategy and roadmap to Leadership team to achieve Delivery objectives
- Fostering Partnership with Commercial-adjacent functions like Marketing, Product Engineering, Strategy, Finance, PeopleTech, etc
- As the highest architecture authority across Uber B2B landscape, responsibility include
- Business Architecture - Business capabilities/ processes
- Information/ Data Architecture - Data models, insights, reports, dashboards
- Application & Integrations Architecture - Core application platforms, supporting apps, and integrations
- Champions the integration of enterprise architecture into the strategic planning & governing processes at Uber Delivery.
- The scope is cross-functional, across all key functions of an organization, such as Strategy, Product, Marketing, Sales, Finance, HR, Legal, and BTE, etc.
- Approve and oversee deployment of technology solutions to support Transformation and Run the Business
- Build Strategic decision-making frameworks (outcome and capability-based planning) to uplevel Sales Ops focus
- Be recognized as a functional expert in CPQ and/or Contract Management CLM domain and bring 'outside-in view' to the Business Stakeholders
- Conduct Solution Architecture reviews with project teams before design and development activities and ensure solution is scalable, is aligned with internal product roadmaps, and meets customers' business requirements
- Lead and guide the BTE Engineering Review Process Committee to ensure technical solutions meet the expectations of the business while coexisting with existing architectures
- Define inherently secure, resilient, and composable architectures that scale for growth
- Define reputable artifacts that document the proposed architectures, designs, processes, and tooling
- Help with reviews and audits of existing architectures and implementations and help with refactoring architectures where required.
Qualifications
- 10+ years managing and delivering experience primarily in GTM space. 10+ years of architecture experience within a high-tech industry.
- Deep understanding of IT systems and infrastructure, including the universe of SaaS business products; with proven experience managing an expansive GTM application portfolio; salesforce.com (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, CPQ, Renewals, etc.), Gainsight, Marketo, and the processes they support (Lead to Order).
- Visible leadership skills and executive presence; demonstrated ability to provide thought leadership, think strategically, and effectively communicate vision and influence across the organization
- Must have proven ability to consistently and collaboratively resolve issues, mitigate roadblocks, and meet all financial and management goals on time. Will be a self-starter who maps his/her own direction to succeed.
- Excellent team management, coaching, and mentoring skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of business, technology, application, data, and security architectures
- The ability to assess organizational strengths and weaknesses and make the choices appropriate to the organization is important

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$203,000 per year - USD$225,500 per year.
For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$203,000 per year - USD$225,500 per year.

Offices continue to be central to collaboration and Uber's cultural identity. Unless formally approved to work fully remotely, Uber expects employees to spend at least half of their work time in their assigned office. For certain roles, such as those based at green-light hubs, employees are expected to be in-office for 100% of their time.
